So the top card peaks at 50C and idles around 23C. It has the radiator at the top of the case as an exhaust.

Now the bottom card peaks at 57C and idles around 32C. It has the radiator at the back as an exhaust.

My only explanation for the difference in temperature is that the bottom card radiator is placed right infront of the CPU cooler (Noctua heatsink with fan). So it is taking the hot air from the CPU. Am I correct or should I go back and check how I fitted the kit?

Seems like a pretty solid explanation to me... and wow... 57C.

I'd be checking my case for room for another radiator.

That sounds like it could be part of it, but not all silicon is created equal.  It could just be a different chip.  Use two instances of GPU-Z to see what voltages the cards are using.

I will try to move it to the front of the case as intake. Will do it when I come back from my vacation.

Same voltages. Nothing odd there. The cards behaved perfectly normal when they had the FE cooler (top card hotter than bottom one by ~5C). Note that after I installed the Hybrid kits, I swapped the cards as well.

That sounds reasonable. If you flip the fan around to intake, you could verify that really quickly.

    i've had this issue with a gtx 980ti + g10 + h75 combo in a itx case.

i had a noctua nh0d9l cpu cooler just half an inch from the rear radiator as exhaust.

even on liquid, the card was hitting 85 degrees.

tried same card on my full tower, max temp on unigine heaven full blast was 60 degrees. it turns out i was feeding the h75 rear exhaust with hot air exhausted from my cpu cooler.

i ended up selling the card since i only have space in the rear for a 120mm radiator.

I removed the radiator from the back of the case (one infront of CPU heatsink+fan) and temperatures dropped to a delta of 0-2C from the cooler card. Which proves that it was indeed a placement issue.

I moved the radiator to the top of the case next to the other radiator but it still places it on top of the CPU directly with the pipes being close to the CPU or crossing it's airflow path. So far temperatures have improved to an idle of about 30C and a 54C on load. This confirms to me that I still need to move it somewhere else.

Was wondering about the front of the case though I already have two case fans there (Corsair 750D case) and I might need to flip the radiator fan and move it to the other side of the radiator, if that is even possible. Not sure about the screws and whether they can be used in such a setup.

    Thoughts? Will tinker tomorrow.

I have the same case as you and here's how I did my setup.

My computer sits in a bit of a cubby hole where it is enclosed on all sides which is why I have it pulled out forward a good bit when it is in it's normal position.  This room is also rather warm, around 80F is normal for this room.  I am using ML140s instead of the stock fans so I am running at lower speeds, typically around 1600 rpm.  The hottest I have seen both cards get was around 63C which was a prolonged session of Rise of the Tomb Raider at absolute max settings at 1440p.  I am fine with these temps and am not willing to put the fans at 100% due to noise, which was the reason why I got the Hybrid kits to begin with.

Thanks cyberdimensions for your input. So here is what I found to give me the best result.

I kept the top GPU radiator as it was which is at the middle top position in the case. Though the bottom GPU radiator I moved towards the front. Since the front has two fan intakes, I flipped the radiator fan. The result is temperatures not exceeding 50C on both GPUs at the cost of a 1-2C increase on my CPU. By also doing this, I managed to return another case fan (next to the top radiator) back to the case acting as exhaust.

Will keep updating this thread if I find any issues but the way it seems, this is my best setup.
