Hello All,
I have a question , Is there any setting changes that must be made first in the Nvidia control panel before I over clock my GPU? All I have been coming across is to change "The Power Management Mode" to Prefer Maximum Performance. Is there anything else that needs to be changed. Thank you :)

You don’t need to set prefer maximum performance under the global settings. If you want the overclocking to apply in games, change the prefer max in each game setting in Nvidia control panel applications drop down menu next to global settings.

There shouldn’t be a huge need to change much else unless you want to set vsync to always on or something like that.

Thank you for the reply, So I should keep everything at default in the control panel? I run  G-SYNC. I have overclocked my GPU with Precision X1 the Target Power at 123, The GPU Clock is at +123, Voltage-100% Memory clock +1000 that's the most I can get out of it. Temps didn't go pass 68c. I did some bench marks and they weren't bad.

For games that may not be “stressful” on the GOU, set prefer max performance. I do this with CS:GO because anything can run it and prefer max keeps the clocks from fluctuating much, if at all.

Also, just a heads up, when you say “the GPU clock is at +123” always make sure to say what the final clock speed is. +123 varies wildly because of GPU Boost 4.0 from Nvidia, and most clocks are slightly different.

Example: +123 core clock for a total of 2050 or stock clock is 1925, and I get a +123 overclock... then is easier to see how you are doing on overall clocks :-)
