An EVGA GT 1030 would work fine. Very Quite.

If its just for movies you can save some money by getting a mobo with HD Graphics built in.

I am using an old gt430 and it does 3d and 1080p just fine. If you plan on doing 4k, you will need much more though. I run a plex and kodi on it from the other room.

I have a Intel NUC that works pretty good for media needs though I find I don't use it that often. It's does a lot that I like but the girlfriend understands how to use the Xbox One so that is what streams everything. To really get back on topic though 1080p is pretty much easy for anything to do at this point for streaming and movie watching. If you are to do some older gaming on it then the GPU would matter a little bit more. I personally like using it for some simple games that are like five minute breaks.
