Just wondering; I have fiber optic. Is there a specific telephone cord I should use. Reason why I ask is because when looking some cords, some have less pins than others

If you are referring to your Ethernet cable, you might as well use cat6. It's faster, isolates better, is more "future proof" and it almost costs the same.

I also would say you probably mean Ethernet which is like a wide phone cable. Cat 6 would be great. Some cables will say Cat 7 but the standard for Cat 7 was made to work with Cat 6 cables so every Cat 6 cable should be a Cat 7 cable if that makes sense.

It's also worth pointing out you can probably go with like an Amazon Basics Cat 6 cable and be find for like $6-7 bucks. Even on Fiber Optic anything Cat 6 certified should be able to handle the speed you are getting.

"Telephone cord to the router." Lol. It could be telephone cord to a modem, but unlikely. But, to a router, it has to be ethernet. So, is it a router or a modem? And, is it a telephone cord or an ethernet cable?

That would only be useful on your router if you were using (A)DSL and are connecting from there. Since you have fiber you'd want to use the Ethernet, either Cat5a, Cat6 or Cat7 (if available in your area) for connecting to your ONT/Fiber router. Normally your provider should give you the proper cabling for the connection type you are needing to use.

I am not sure if I'm explaining this right. I receive my internet via telephone line. That 'line' goes into my modem/router. Then to my rig. So refer that to the OP.

how can that be fiber, phone lines are limited to about 50mbs due to the cable, no way will a normal 4 pin phone cord carry enough bandwidth for a fiber connection.

Are you sure its not just basic DSL?

Something isn't adding up for me. Qwest fiber optic internet which is only 42 Mb/s and using a phone line? I see that Qwest offers up to 1 Gb/s fiber optic in various locations. Only 42 Mb/s and using a phone line on a fiber optic network? Huh?
Anyways, if it is a phone line, it looks like your performance is on par and there is no reason to be looking for replacement phone line.

The fiber i have runs an actual fiber connection to a junction box downstairs, then a Cat6 cable to the router (or it can use a coax cable, but i dont lile it as much) and I get speeds around 100mbps up and down consistently through verizon.

Not sure how qwest sets things up though.

Nice. But I get my service through a telephone line. Works rather well as I've been using it for years. So basically what I was asking is can I use a regular telephone cord or is there a cord that would improve. According to my speed tests, it appears good. Also I need to extend my telephone line at about 5'. As I asked; There are more pins than others.. I would assume that I only need four?

    <EDIT>
I have a cat5e but I'm not using it. The one that's connected does not indicate

Fiber to the small box out side from their POTS into the house.
Fiber into the home not until late 2018 per CenturyLink.

I replaced all my inside Cat2 with Cat5 a few years back.
I did this to have two spare pairs.

That's a poor excuse for fiber optic. Ok, whatever though. I have coax cable with the same speed. Proper fiber optic should be hundreds of Mb per second. Sorry for the confusion. I didn't know anyone sold such a poor excuse of a fiber optic connection. I am pretty sure that is a modem, not a router. But what do I know anymore?
