There is a place were you can lease a video card for about 46 a month for 12 months. I want to know if this place is legit for one, or if anyone has used or know anyone that has. You can get a 580 for about 560 bucks total, and then after that year get something else. Any info or feedback would be great.

That seems like a total wait of money to me for about the same price you can buy a 580 and own it, why would you lease something for the same price it would be to buy it??

I'm sure you could buy it with a low interest credit card and pay about the same except you would own it.

Pay for it upfront, why would you finance a purchase like that??

Better option, buy a GTX580 for $560 and then sell it next year for $400 and be $400 ahead on things vs getting ripped off on a lease.

What the OP neglected to mention is that you can buy out the card at the end of the lease at a cost of one month's payment. It puts the card at about $608, which is ~$80 more than it can be found today at a reputable reseller, if they even have stock. IMO, it's not as horrific as people are making it out to be. It's effectively a perpetual Step-Up Program with an entrance fee of $80 (in this case), but no payment for the difference between the current and upgraded card. It's not for everyone, but for those of us who prefer to upgrade often, or those who don't have $540 to drop, it may be a viable option. I don't work for or am even associated with them, but I was having a difficult time finding a couple EVGA 580s from a retailer I trust and I came across their site in a Google ad. Did a search on the seller for more info and found this thread.

http://www.cuttingedgegamer.com/index.html It's run by a few guys who've been in the industry for awhile... A business development manager from AMD and the founder of BigFoot Networks (Killer network cards).

This is an interesting idea, but I could just do the same thing through my newegg prefered account with 0% intrest or payments for a year. First time I used it was for my whole PC, purchased everything for about $1200. Paid everything off after about the 8th month, didn't make a single payment till the 8th month.

$46.79 / Month Term: 12 months = $561.48 ^ To be honest I'd rather pay for a brand new $50 for ~$550 right now, use it for one year, sell it next year for at least $350. You lose less out of your pocket and you won't have to worry about their terms of use or anything.

All good points.. Just like to add... I think some are not reading the fine print... - Free upgrades!! No selling your card(s) for a loss just to buy the next one(s) at inflated fresh release pricing.
- After the 12th month payment, only one more payment (13th month when communicating the intent) and you KEEP THE CARD!
Not baaaaaad... For example... Right now we can say the 580 is Nvidia's king, and we know the Dual GPU will be on the shelves in 2011... And we also know most will miss the Step up window... This program all but guarantees you can step up (in a way yes it cost $$) even if it is 200 days from now... Cool idea AFAIAC... P.S. Seabigbears idea is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better

I could not be happier with their service. I got snowed in and could not get to my bank before my payment was due. They moved the date out so I would not be penalized. And some of us cant afford to toss out a thousand dollars for a video card. For that this service is perfect. I have had nothing but good experiences with this company. I am in the process of upgrading to gtx titan (pascal) the upgrade is going to cost me 40 bucks up front and 139 monthly.Cant wait. I hope this helped

FattysGoneWild Leasing out a video card? Really?
Why not? Think of it this way. The average cell phone is around the same price of a 1080 (if purchased from the provider). Do you purchase your phone outright or do you pay a monthly fee. Personally, I would prefer to buy the card outright and that same 73.99 you pay for a 1080 could be paid monthly onto your credit card or plan to pay the card off.
