It's held in via 3 screws behind the front panel. Once you unscrew the plastic holder you can replace the led strip inside easily.

The only thing that I don't know about is the slots are perfectly spaced for the led strip so if you replace the strip with one that has different spacing the led'so may not line up to the slots.

    Chris is correct on this.
I replaced mine, not hard.. the adhesive on the strip is pretty solid stuff so be careful.
I put a deepcool led strip(magnetic) in mine, but the housing is plastic.. with the little bit of adhesive left on the housing, i just lined up the leds to the cut outs on the housing, and reused the glue plug.
    Works like a charm.

It fits, but just barely.. the connector lead on the original is much longer.
Deepcools led strip does come with an extension strip(on the 2 led pack), so it was still fairly easy.

So... Speaking of that LED Strip... I just noticed this morning that those LEDs? THey're not all that nice, bright, blue-white color anymore. Only about 3 or 4 of them are, actually. Most of them have become a more yellow-white color, a few of them even looking actively Yellow. I haven't even had this case for a full week, how could this be happening? To my knowledge, they're not RGB, so I would expect them to be designed to retain the proper color for quite some time.

that is odd, i do not know what would be making your LEDs yellow. mine have been on 24/7 for weeks now and no color change for me.

Since I got the case and re-built into it, I've had my computer on almost constantly, as well. The system's been running fairly solid between 28C and 36C, normally at about 30C, so I doubt it's a temperature issue. They just... Don't look that good anymore. And this is a brand-new case, it's rather worrying... I don't know. I'm hoping for a comment of some sort from one of the EVGA guys. I was planning on going with RGB lighting eventually anyway, this is just pushing me to do it sooner than I'd planned.

I think the DeepCool leds i got were about 16$ so not expensive at all.
Comes with 2 led strips, they each can be disconnected from a small power unit.
    Comes with an extension cable.
    Comes with a remote.
All in all, not a bad little set.

Yeah, the LEDs are definitely noticeably degrading now. The first time I noticed it, somewhere between half and two thirds of the LED were more of a warm-white tone, going to almost Yellow. This morning, there's only one LED left that's the original cool-white color. I'm not liking this, at all.

All of mine are yellow now, just emailed support. I know it will be a couple days before I hear anything with it being labor day and all. But will see what they do.

Those that have replaced the strip. Would it not be possible to use a magnetic strip without the plastic sheath and still get the same desired effect?

Should be getting my deepcool strip today, and will report back. I'd rather not use the plastic if I can slap it on some metal in the same spot.

EDIT: I now see that the plastic sheath is also acting as a channel for the light to hit the plexi edge properly. Perhaps there's a way to mod it to allow for magnetic install. Maybe not worth it, though

I took the plastic out and used the magnetic strip to stick to the metal behind it.  I'm not using the plexi, and I'm pretty sure the plastic channel also plays a roll in holding the plexi in place.

Thanks neweeg express, got it a bit ago and have it installed, looks great, but am saddened that the strip doesn't work in-line with my other strip via Asus Aura as they claim it does. When I change the color, my other strip changes fine but the deepcool chooses another color. Seems like a wrong interface or wonky strip.

If both led strips, regardless of brand, are wired for asus aura, why would this happen? I'm stuck with white until I get an answer from them. I've checked for an adapter in the box, but nothing.

Also decided to pull the crappy strip out of the plastic and install this one. Looks like the yellowing is a result of the led lens burning. cheeeeeaaap

lesson learned.. For those with an asus board with onboard aura.. deepcool plugged into the main header works fine, but when plugged in tandem with another brand strip, mine being a cablemod widebeam, it messes up, the colors are different. Why, I do not know.

I would think if both are 5050 ready for Aura, they should work regardless. not getting it...

I feel like this would be less of an issue if the deepcool strips weren't terminated at the ends. Why not have a plug at the end?
