Anyone have any experience with Gateway NE56 Laptops? I have A Gateway NE56R34U that I have two issues with both related to power.
 
1. The laptop has a bad battery. I was looking at the one that Acer sales as a replacement battery, but when I check other battery sources and websites, I see higher capacity batteries that are supposed to work with this laptop.
 
2. The user has damaged the charging port. I was wondering if anyone has ever broken down one of these models or replaced the charging port.  I really just haven't found the time to look at it yet. Looks like what we might have is a semi-cut cable going to the adapter port due to the hinge screw falling out once, and the loose hinge pushing against other parts.
