Hello all!
Thinking of upgrading to a newer, faster SSD then my old Intel X-25 SSD's and had a few questions.  I would like to buy a Mini PCI-e SSD (M.2?) for Windows 10 but wasent sure if this board will see it as a UEFI bootable device.  Currently running latest bios (v2.04) and only using one GTX 980ti, & may get a 2nd one later this year, but read that many users were having issues with the drive not being seen by either the bios, or Windows.  Also was wondering if there was any advantage to using the longer PCI-E SSD with a PCI-E/Adapter vs the mini PCI-e SSD that can fit onto by boards built in M2.0 slot.  I know I can buy for example the Intel 750 series that fits right into one of my PCI-E slots, but they are far to expensive for my budget right now.

I guess what Im asking if anyone has any suggestions as to what may work well with this board as a UEFI boot device. Been searching for days now and havent seen much info on PCI-E Mini SSD's using this Z97 Classified so I thought I would ask here...  Plan on getting a 256-300GB SSD for now.
Thanks to all who reply!!

I'd recommend against the msata which is what the z97 classy takes.

I didn't see any real benefits aside from freeing up some physical space in the case.

I haven't tried m.2 via pcie, may work, but I am using an Intel 750 aic and that works great in UEFI. It's a bit more expensive but it does provide an upgrade over SSD or msata.
