Hello, Just a random question for EVGA because I'm a bit OCD about packaging :) Do you guys have a different foam cover for EU market? I've seen only this one prior to my purchase of GTX1080 FTW but I didn't get that "EVGA" foam cover like this : Mine is just plain basic foam:

I'm in Europe and I have the plain foam shown in the 2nd picture.

live in the UK, my 1070 FTW edition box came with black foam but is plain, then again, its what's in the box that counts!

OK, so they indeed have a different packaging. I wonder why?

It's difficult to say but maybe in Europe the plain foam was a cheaper alternative.

Most probably, they had to cheap out on something to have that ROI all checked in line because these prices in EU are higher than USA... I can't say I'm happy with that because they must maintain all their products THE SAME AESTHETICALLY... That foam cover is in fact a part of their branding! If I was in charge someone would be penalized.

Packaging is for me important. But both are nice. On second picture foam is good if someone clean card later, replace thermal paste, install waterblock etc... Could use foam instead of card box or similar thing. Foam on second picture is finer little but no EVGA sign. I would choose rather second but both are nice. They pack card on different places for Europe and USA. Only hardware is produced on same places, but packed on different I think. That's not so important thing... enjoy in graphic card... I would only like to EVGA use foam or finer paper pulp package for cheaper products instead plastic clamshell containers. I hate nylon and plastic bags. Even box could be packed in biodegradable plastic. I'm not sure about prices and maybe will cost more but could be good for marketing of company if others are aware that EVGA use Eco-friendly packages.

Both of mine are like the second picture. One shipped from the US for NewEgg.ca and the other bought direct from Memory Express here in Canada. That top picture looks just like the packaging for my 780ti cards.

Pretty sure my 1080 FTW from EVGA had the plain basic foam, but I am not at home to check.

At least there is foam. The 980ti FTW and lots of 900 series cards came in a plastic blister pack.

That's bad. Example I got GTX580 reference with same foam as GTX580 Hydro Copper. Some of them are in pulp paper package. Only is important that avoid as much possible plastic pack. But if offer is good and if hardware is OK and no other option than you need used on plastic.

Weird. My 1080 FTW was shipped directly from EVGA in the US and it is black with the EVGA cutout.

I had 2 FTW come in both of those packages. I think the first 3000 cards had the eVGA foam and the rest had the plain foam with plastic afterwards.

I'm trying to understand if the type of foam used gives off magical powers to make the 1080 run better...
