Does this mean we'll see a whole line of them one day? *ponder* maybe the SC17 is just the start, then the Gsync version, then maybe something with a pascal, then maybe a 19" laptop (those are rare but I think they do exist) then maybe a few at a lower price point, then... *voice trails off*

Still, it makes me wonder if there's a whole lot more in the works.

Seems like just an advertising ploy since you can't subscribe to the thread and get notices. Zero chance of any useful dialogue here.

    Hi Zuhl3156,

It was just some settings.  Been a while since I created a new forum and forgot to tick some boxes.  Subscribe should be working now.

    Thanks,
    Rob

I this this a great idea. EVGA SC17 Laptop Is on my Radar Now!
Even NVIDIA Drivers are different for the M Series of their Graphics Cards then the Desktop version and I am sure more as well.

Well you just never know when those crazy EVGA engineers are up to. This is a very interesting laptop introduction.

I kinda of hope later they make a lower end laptop. I want a laptop as a gaming accessory when I'm on the road, not as a main setup. 3K is a bit much for me for something I use one week a month.

I agree with this. I would love to sport an EVGA laptop, but would honestly only game on it a few times a month. Most of its time would be spent doing work duty. Cut the ram in half, maybe just a single 500gb SSD, and 960m or maybe 970m GPU and you'd about what I would need from a mobile platform. Good enough to game but not be a "desktop replacement" setup.

to add to that cut the screen from 4k to 1080. maybe 17 to 15 but I kinda like the idea of 17in laptop.

I'm surprised they didn't put it in "[Other EVGA Products]" section. It looks weird being by itself.

My last laptop was 17" and I loved it. With the exception of transporting it was a pain. My current one is a cheapo 15.6" and is much easier to handle. But I wouldn't mind going back to 17". I'd say if staying 17" go down to 1440p resolution, and if dropping to 15" go to 1080.

Depends what you want a laptop for. For me, it's mobility, with at least reasonable gaming capability and processing power. See my signature: 13.3" 1920x1080 res, i7-4810 (quad core), GTX-860M, 16GB ram and a 500GB mSATA SSD.. and I have a second 120GB mSATA SSD in there as well for backups. There's also room for a third 2.5" SSD. Backlit keyboard, reasonable sound card, USB3.0 ports, HDMI and VGA ports so can hook up to larger monitors easily, good network card plus ethernet port.. great little machine - small but very capable, although it runs a little hot lol. Keep in mind I've had it for a year or two now and 860M was as good as it gets at the time, and nobody else was dropping full quad cores into 13.3" laptops at the time - that was just crazy talk lol. I really like the 13.3" form factor, and when I next upgrade I'll almost definitely go for the same size... just sayin, EVGA...

To have it's own forum is appropriate just as it was for Tegra
