Given that the recommended configuration for SLI on the Classified K is slots 1 and 2, do the 1080 ACX and/or Founder's cards fit together in those slots?  Even if they do, is there sufficient space between them for the top card to cool properly?

    ACX = NO
    Founder's = YES
    I would not go with the ACX Cooler with two cards, best to go with the Blower Style Cooler.

    I believe two ACX 1080s will fit, meaning the backplate of the bottom card shouldn't block the top card from fitting, but the top card will be rather suffocated.

    Yes with back plates they will fit fine but as you say above the top card will suffocate and overheat.
    That is why I recommended with two cards to get the Blower Style Cooler.

    There seem to be a number of complaints out there about the Founder's Edition cards having problems where the fan will suddenly rev up for no reason (e.g., when not gaming) and then drop back down.  I don't know if this is a problem only with the Founder's Edition or if the plain EVGA version (the $609 model) will have it too.

    I believe all the 1080's currently have this issue but I could be wrong so don't quote me on that . It's quite possible it's BIOS or driver related.

    NVIDIA believes they have solved the fan problem with the newest driver update; please update to 386.39 if you're experiencing this issue.
