Here's the situation.   Not to long ago, I bought one of these,    Plugged into the motherboard and it never would function consistently.  Drives would randomly drop off and then come back, including in the middle of a file transfer.  Every time I started the PC up, it would rediscover the drives.  Switched the set up over to USB 2.0 and all the issues went away.  Been running flawlessly since then.    Prior to this I had a large format HDD in a USB 3.0 enclosure and had no issues using 3.0.

So I guess my question is, why is USB 3.0 so flaky with this set up while 2.0 isn't?  Also, I checked, USB drivers are current with whats available through EVGA servers.

And for a comparison, my ASUS Z87 Sabertooth was just as flaky with the single 4TB drive as the Classy is with the multiple drives.

I have the same item as you have these but found that it only worked well on the eSATA port.
And this was on my Aurora R4 USB 3.0 Ports, so it really is NOT the EVGA USB 3.0 Ports but more the ORICO.
The Aurora R4 USB 2.0 Ports work fine as well as you state above.
I did find that turning off Power Management on the USB Ports worked best.
This was under Windows 7 as well as Windows 10 on my Aurora R4.
Maybe USB 3.1 will fix most of the issues that USB 3.0 has.

This is the only USB 3.0 Device that I have that works with USB 3.0 with no issues.

I've also gone in and completely disabled the power management features for the USB 3.0 ports.  It didn't make a difference.

I wanted to give eSATA a go, but that's not an option with the Classified board unless I add a card.    Since these are just storage and recovery drives, I'm not overly concerned about being stuck at 2.0 speeds.  I just drop the files and then go do something else.

This is my only multi drive device.  I've got the enclosure that I mentioned before, which I no longer use and a docking station that I keep hooked up in case I need to move files.   The docking station has no issues with 3.0 either, regardless of the drive capacity.
