Great way to start out a question, eh.

Anyways, I am using two monitors, one for gaming, the other one for, ummm, housekeeping - that is, for Teamspeak, powergrid, and other applications I like to see whilst playing games. I've been considering getting a GTX950 for the latter monitor, a 22" viewsonic VX2272 IPS widescreen, and use all of the resources of my current GTX970 SSC for the gaming monitor, a 25" Acer 144Hz 1440p G257HU. The GPUs would use the same drivers so I don't believe there will be any conflicts.

Should I or shouldn't I. Stupid or stoopid?

I think it's unnecessary.  Then again you could find other purposes for the GTX 950 like mining, Folding @ Home, or dedicated PhysX processing for the few PhysX games out there.
