(Ok I hope that this is the right forum... )

Ok, I have a quick question about installing games on a drive other then the C drive... I noticed that even if I do install a game on D, or E or what ever other drive, there are still a lot of files and things installed on the c drive that pertain to whatever game that I just installed... This is not what I want at all.. The reason that I have 2 TBs of storage is to be able to install all games on the large drives and leave the C drive for Dos and productivity stuff like Office, Excel and so on...  Any help here would be really nice... Thanks...

If your operating system is on the C: drive then your game needs to write some things to the registry which is located on the drive where your operating system is so there may not be a way around that.

Ok, but is there not a wai to assign temp c to another drive??  Whats the use of having large drives if you have to put everything on your C: drive?   (Aside for backup, that is...)

You are not putting large files on C if you install on D. All you are doing is pointing to the files on D. This is what I do and it works very well.
I also do not put My documents, My Photos, My Downloads on C they are all on D and backed up on E.

Yeah, but what about a bunch of games... If you install a group of games on the C drive it will soon fill up.. I thought that if I installed my games on my 1 TB drive that I would be saving space on my c drive. But, I have found that there are a bunch of files that are installed on my C drive that "LOOK" like my games that were installed on my game drive.   It (the C drive) is supposed to  be for only the OS, I like my games on my game drive, pictures and videos on my Media drive  and Documents of all sorts on my documents drive.. This will leave my C drive free for the OS and any updates that was needed... What would I do if I had a SSD and install a bunch of games on my games drive and found out that there are bunches of games in stalled on my C drive as well??? What is the use of having these large drives for games if they will be install on the C drive also???  Years back, (I am going to date myself now. ) I used a Amiga computer. (Best computer ever)  I had everything set up in this way. The only thing that was on my DH0: drive(same as C: ) was my OS.. NOTHING else was on that drive.. ... Ok, Thats all that I have to say for now, but if ANYONE can think of some method of setting this up in the manner that I have stated, Please let me know .. I recall slightly,  an artical doing this by somehow reassigning C:

    HELP!!!
