Part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jatWrCLQyhA Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ccUkT8HaXE Overall the game runs pretty nicely, provided you leave something called Advanced DOF unchecked in the DirectX 11 Options. Even at the main screen, it was chuggin with that ticked. Sort of a Fallout 3, The Witcher, Bioshock combination title. Enjoy! SirJamesDDJ

DOF is depth of field, its a camera/viewing affect, that can be applied in 3d programs, movies, cameras and now video games. Like a focus point with the outer edges of the camera blurry, it is prob doing real time motion blur or is using the math equation to generate that affect thus giving you the mega slow downs.

Chaos_21 The graphics look outstanding, but the game control looks kind of lacking If you mean the bit of choppyness or being hard to control that is because its only using one of his gpus atm have to wait for ati to release new drivers so crossfire will work with metro.

It seems to be using both GPU's for me. I am monitoring GPU usage and both are being used equally. When i get below 40 fps the usage is usually below 70%. So hopefully a new driver will make this run like a champ. Excellent looking game and very spooky!

Maybe it was just the specific areas I was in but it seems to only be using a single core on the cpu? Seems a little odd since they recommended a dual/quad core cpu for it.

DX11 really runs this game slow. With DOF off and everything else on very high, the framerate jumps all over the place. It is playable, but will bog down into the 30's once the action starts. Otherwise I am usually 50 to 80 fps. I personally cannot tell the defference between dx11 and dx10 in this game on very high, but it does make a big difference in framerate. I turned on/off tesselation and took some screen shots and could not tell any difference. The lighting effects and high res textures are great.

Well Craptacularone played it with his crossfire setup and said his second gpu was not being used I think he will be trying a third card for trifire but he said this will not be fixed untill ati releases new drivers. There is a notacble difference in dx10 to 11 in eye candy you just have to know what your looking for. In a screen shot you cannot tell if things are using tesselation or not btw that is a more on the fly you get it as the framerates are going by with how they are using it in the game. TBH I cannot wait to see the 480 GTX because that means I can finally make a choice if im going red or staying green on my upgrade.

Not sure if it matters, but could the fact that I only had 6GB memory in during the video have made any difference? Just curious why the optimal settings suggest 8+ GB RAM

Because of all the new eye candy the computer needs the work table aka ram to work with, when dealing with more intense models, special affects aka eye candy in game it chews up alot of resources.

Guess I'll snap in my 2nd kit and see if there's an improvement. It's not a demo, it was released yesterday retail.
