It can be either, MSim. It is a game and it is news about DX11 and DX12 with a performance comparison.

AMD probably wouldn't mind but i can see Nvidia putting a end to that in their drivers

I really don't see that happening ever. It's at the Microsoft DirectX 12 level - a feature set any programmer can use.

The article is also 5 pages long total and not written by a user of the forums to show benchmarks. It begins with an API introduction with some history and discussion of Ashes of Singularity (AoS) with performance from both GPU manufacturers with detailed capabilities. It is a game and it is an article about how it runs with both setups. The benchmark section of the forums has people overclocking their equipment and benchmarking using different hardware and software. The article in the OP is about a game and how it plays with different hardware at stock and evidently doesn't include any overclocked parts whatsoever. To wrap up, it is a game, it is news about how it functions with the two API's and both AMD and NVIDIA. I see no problem here.

Not willing to drop $60 on a game just to use it's benchmark. Benchmarks like this have a cost of entry, so noone can validate the 3rd party data without dropping $$$. Not a fan of that sort of paywall benchmarking to use as a basis for DX12 drama.
