Have my 780ti Kingpin in for RMA currently and got impatient lol so have ordered a 980ti Classified as.....well I just wanted one :) My burning question is will EVGA produce a hybrid cooling kit as I'm sure that I'm not the only one who isn't comfortable messing with liquid and a closed loop solution we can just bolt on must appeal to an amount of classified owners who want to get the most out of their cards, I wouldn't rule out custom cooling, but a kit the same as for the reference boards would be great.

Highly unlikely. But who really knows what EVGA is up to. Maxwell architecture has proven to be very efficient and other cooling option are really not needed. Results have proven there is little difference between stock cooling and after-market AIO's, the only difference is in some heat dissipation in the case. With AIO's the gpu's heat dissipation is better handled in removing it but with proper case ventilation the same results can be obtained with stock coolers. However the best results are obtained with full cover water blocks and proper radiator positioning and ventilation. just my 2 cents...

Good points well made, in fairness I only bought the Kingpin as it was the the best available when I built my system, and in fairness even on air it hhas performed amazingly on 4k beyond what most have said a 780ti would, but its not without its limits so I was upgrading anyway soon, but the death of my card has forced my hand. As I didn't really read into the kingpin, been an enthusiasts card, best run on advanced cooling, I decided the classified would better fit this time, but still would be nice to have a bolt on cooler, can the 980ti reference kit be modified? or is that just not gonna happen?

the reference kit works with the stock fans to cool the rest of the card , it does not come with the fan.So unfortunately it does not work. I thought of using a Kraken to cool the new KPE's but after thinking it over , i see no point, i will just wait for EK to make a water block for it. I would like to hear what you get back on the rma. May be a 980 classy. that would be nice!

I think the only reason that evga has the kits available separately is because they already make all the parts for the Hybrids. I personally would like to see them put out a hydro copper / and kit for the Classy's and the KPE's but that will never happen either,, i dont think

I have been assigned another reconditioned 780ti kingpin just waiting for it to be sent. basically you get the same or better and as 980ti classified and kingpins are like unicorn poop i guess they had to find a re-certified kingpin. I don't think I'm the only one that would love to see a kit though, and yes I do appreciate it works with the other fans etc, but still......

have you thought of making your own? I mean, with all the other options out there, it would not be hard, Look at the new EK predator, you could get a water-block for the card and take the cpu block and its fittings off and connect it to the gpu, and there you go, i may go that route with my sons pc, hopefully they are gonna sell the parts separately, they have already said they will be offering pre-filled blocks, but again, doubt that would include non reference ones, since its more for beginners.

Don't forget, they made the HC for the 780 Classy. Who's to say that they won't make one for the KPE? This is only the 3rd generation of the card.

It is extremely unlikely they will make an AIO cooler that fits one card, no matter how many forum users request it. Since the classified is 1" wider and would require a fully redesigned shroud, heatware, fan and hardware, it would not be cost effective or provide enough of a gain to justify charging more than a K|ngp|n for a lower tier card. Just think, the ACX alone is running $50 for the Titan X, then the AIO is $100 for a shroud and the AIO. so, you are looking at $150 to $200 on top of the established cost.. Costing more than a K|ngp|n, which would need a different heat plate than the classified, so it couldn't even use the AIO. That is a waste of resources for EVGA and won't make any sense.

Don't forget, because it would replace an ACX setup, they'd also have to include a reference-type fan, making it even more expensive and less likely.
