Hello,

My PC has been working with no problems whatsoever until this morning, when I booted it up again.

When I boot with my 2x EVGA GTX 780 Ti SC ACX GPUs installed, my Asus ROG Maximus Hero VII shows the B2 Q-Code and shows nothing on my monitors. The display does, however, work using the onboard graphics. The solutions I've tried so far include:
  • Removing and re-seating each component;
  • Resetting the CMOS;
  • BIOS flashback;
  • Starting with one stick of RAM and adding one more each time;
  • Booting with no HDD/SSD or GPUs plugged in;
  • Updating BIOS;
  • Booting with no USB devices plugged in
It should be noted that my GPUs are liquid cooled, so removing them and trying a different GPU is impossible/not easy.

What could be the problem here? My specs are as follows:
  • Mobo: ROG Maximus VII Hero z97 motherboard
  • RAM: 32GB Kingston HyperX Savage @ 2400MHz
  • CPU: Intel i7 4790K CPU @ stock speed
  • GPUs: 2x EVGA GTX 780 Ti SC ACX (liquid cooled)
  • Storage: Crucial BX100 500GB SSD; Seagate 2TB HDD
  • Power supply: Corsair RM850
  • Cooling: EKWB full custom loop

As I said, the system was running fine last night but today it doesn't seem to want to. Everything else starts up (fans, pump, hard drive, etc.) but there's just no display with the cards plugged in. If anyone's got any ideas I'll be happy to hear them - cheers.

Did you try connecting the monitor to the other 780Ti?
Since you removed just about every component, I would focus on the GPU, PSU, and board itself.
Do you have another PSU and GPU to test on this board?

Re-flashing the bios and clearing the CMOS would be worth another shot.

This may be a long shot, but remove or replace the SLI bridge.

I assume you do not get uefi to display either so:

pull sli bridge
pull power cables to gpu 1 /
connect display to gpu 2
start it up, boot to setup,  see if you get signal to display gpu 1 has failed

if no signal, try same to test gpu 2
technically it should work without pulling power to a gpu , but could be power short or part failure
on one of the 780's causing this, and could still due to power from pci rail
Draining the loop is probably inevitable, unfortunately

Interesting.  There is a display signal from the second card.  Does this mean the first one is completely unusable now?

more than likely, you may need to remove it to do more tests, RMA it if needed
could be a bad pci slot on the board (unlikely) but you may want to try gpu 2 in that slot to test it
