Hi all..and happy 4th to everyone here :)

Ok i have 2 questions and any input would help me choose how to go the route of 4K.

1) I'm set to buy a 2nd Titan X by Monday, and pairing it with a G-Sync monitor, i'm just concerned
about if G-Sync will stop any possible SLI micro-stuttering?

 Or will micro-stutter still occur?

Anyone here have a SLI setup and using a G-Sync monitor, please let me know your thoughts.

2) Even with one Titan-X, it's begging me to upgrade from a 4yr old 120hz 1080p[TN] panel.

Yeah using dsr does help a bit but it's just 1080p afterall.

I'm looking at the below Acer XB280HZ G-Sync monitor as it's tempting me..badly..lol, but i know
Asus is coming out with it's 4K IPS G-Sync this Q3/Q4. [with a rumor 4ms response time].

I'd ideally like to wait but iv'e been waiting since buying the Titan-X 2 months back..and it
may not be released until Oct/Nov. for all i know.

If you had one or a couple Titan X's and still had a 1080p monitor, what would you go with?

btw: Another option is the Acer 1440p/144hz IPS G-Sync [below] which looks like amazing, but wow..
i'd probably be wondering if i'm missing out on 4K?
But then again that would save me 1K from buying another Titan X..

Also: I have the Rift DK2 and wondering if it would judder in extended mode for a 60hz panel,
as if so, i'd easily go with the Acer 1440p IPS sure.

I know one thing, i cannot stomach v-sync anymore and i need to grab a G-sync this week.

Any input here would be very much appreciated :)

 TIA

I have 3 titanx and 5 1600p screens and one 4k. It really just depends how close you sit and what you like personally i feel the 1600p screens are better for over all playablity cpu will not get bogged down on extreme settings as easy. 1440p would even be lighter on cpu. So lower res = more fluid game play little bit less detail if you sit really close to the monitor. 4k is very nice but if you want to read things with out using dpi scaling in windows you need to sit pretty damn close to read with out straining your eyes too much. Like for me no more than 3 feet for 4k screen. And i have 20/20 vision. I use the 1600p more than i do the 4k. 4k is very nice if you want to browse 2 full webpages side by side no doubt. but it can very easly be done on 1600p as well. At the end of the day i say go the lower resolution unless your getting a very large screen like a 50+ inch tv. I am in no way saying 4k is bad its not. but you may have to reduce your settings a bit to get higher fps. also depends on the game if game is very well optimized 4k no problem if optimization is not so good like some smaller games then 4k could prove to be hard to play smoothly.

1 oc titanx 1350/1900 is good for 1600p.
    go 2 titanx for 4k.
also i would do no less than 32GB system memory for 2 titanx

     Thanks for the input guys!

    Ok .. an update and a question[below]:

I was thinking of going the route of buying a 48" 4K (Samsung JS9000) and use it as my
main monitor, but just got through playing some GTA:V at 120fps(<-older 3D TN panel),
and from what i seen, i may just go the route of the Acer IPS 1440P G-Sync and
SLI'ing the Titan-X to get upwards of 120-144fps at 1440p.

Damn..the combo of 120fps and G-Sync seems like it would be the smoothest gameplay, if only
    i can get used to a 28" a my gaming panel..lol
    (i'm using a 42" Plasma  currently)

One question: With G-Sync, is there a difference from 60fps and 120fps, or are they both as smooth?

     TIA

btw: scaling with Win 8.1 is a bit*h even if i go with the largest fonts. For instance Origin's main page is so tiny to view i need to put reading glasses on. .. lol  That's why if i go 4K and don't care about 120fps/144fps or g sync, i'm going with a 48" Samsung 4K panel. 28" is just too small for 4K font's(as i did a test using a 32" LED and shrunk the display to 28")

I would have to assume that any FPS that is playable will be butter smooth so long as you are not having big frame drop outs. That said I can not see why anyone would want/need g-sync my games play very very good and look perfect if i enable vsync so what the benifit from G-sync would be is for lower fps if i'm not mistaken but even then it can only eat so many slow frames before you start to lose fluid playback. And it will add input lag to what you see by a very small amount i would assume its too little to ever notice. I have a 120Hz TN pannel from asus that i use for 3D and i have to say the difference from it to my 60Hz IPS 1600p screen is a non issue at worst. IQ is just so much better that if there was any difference i cant see it being worth it for me. And game play back is so smooth I just dont see the appeal for the G-sync i'm not saying it wouldn't be ok to play with i just wouldn't go crazy for it. I would still find a monitor that looks good first. I can not stand light bleed or color wash on one corner of the screen at all! Its just a huge eyesore to me idk thats my 2 cents lol.  I just cant see why so many people think there games need this unless they are short of vram or system memory or something that is causing lag.
Maybe someone with G-sync can help me see it here. Because i'm really struggling to see how this will help with perfectly smooth playback already lol.
