This is my scrap heap of parts acquired over time from this forum alone.  Some of them generously donated (not many) and some of them purchased for RIDICULOUSLY good deals.  I will post photos as I can as I get a chance to update them.. I just received the stock cooler for the 4790k today for testing everything and then I will begin once I verify everything posts and I can load windows.

Parts List:
z87 Sabertooth Maximus VI Formula paired with a 4790k and Phase Change
Two 780 Classified under HydroCopper waterblocks on Air, until Res comes in (Thanks Zophar)
Crucial MX100
16 gb Adata XPG 1600mhz
Test Bench
Enermax MaxRevo 1350w

The list is short, but I will be abusing this along the way.  Stay Tuned.

Pictures coming asap (tonight, hopefully)...

Found 3 bent pins in the motherboard.  Tried to straighten them, but I am too tired and can't see which way I need them to get to get them perfect.  I will work on it tomorrow.

Wasn't able to get a successful post today, just a red LED for the cpu, so I ordered a cheap CPU to make sure it isn't a CPU error.

The rest of my stuff will be here Friday, so there will be multiple things going on at once.

Bought the Maximus Vi Formula for a good price, and had a bent pin, and used a paper clip to slowly fix it:

Got her booted:

Initial Preperations for the phase change, kneaded eraser.  This will get replaced with petroleum Jelly as soon as I tear it down for maintenance soon.

Tore it apart and delidded the CPU right away, because why not right?:

This looks beautiful.. kneaded eraser looks horrific when it is pushed out of the way, lol. Don't worry, nothing got into the socket, it's just reflections:

This is my first time, so spare me the laughter.. lol:

Well then, here we go.. The fan is so the CPU error doesn't ring off on boot, so I aimed it at the RAM for some airflow.

One last test on the box before install:

She lives in her new home, just need a monitor now.

Very nice Scarlet. Phase change is pretty neat. I though about making my own setup using a window AC unit at one point. But I just never goat around to it before throwing the unit away because I was tired of looking at it.

What is this in the socket?

PS Thanks, I really could use a $1000.00 EVGA Bucks!
I cannot wait to see your scores.

Petroleum Jelly in the socket to keep humidity and condensation out of the socket.

And, yes, I could use the EVGA bucks as well. I just gave away all of mine to a local friend that needed a motherboard, so he has a z97 classy b-stock on the way to get him online.

My Mods Rigs badge under my name isn't showing up anymore... Do I have to enable it somewhere?  It used to be just above my EGC Badge.

Go to mods rigs and edit your rig. Make sure that the box for "Set as primary rig" is checked and save the edit.
