E767 dual QPI mod to run westmere CPU's

Hello,
 
I'm looking for information on how to do the dual QPI mod on the EVGA X58 SLI3 (E767) rev 1.0. There are pics of such a mod for the Classified here:

But I can't find similar locations on an E767 rev 1.0, which seems to be quite different in those areas (above the CPU and to the right of the IOH).
 
The problem is that my board is revision 1.0 and that requires a mod to work correctly with 6-core westmere CPU's. The board is also out of warranty so I can't RMA it or ask EVGA to do the mod.

    Also, I would like to ask the tech support not to refer to policies like "closed info" and so. I have seen an example of EVGA providing schematics for another board in a neighbor thread, moreover, my board is long out of warranty, and X58 is a very old platfrom in generral, so I can't see how there would be any harm in us doing the mod at home. Thank you for understanding.

    Don't believe you need that mod for the e767. I know revision 1 of the first SLI board (758) needed it but the westmere's is listed as compatible on evga's list.

    If you scroll down to the footnote it says: "Westmere processors are only supported natively on the X58 SLI3, FTW3, and Classified3 Models. A product modification may be needed for older models."
     
    ....And you have the X58 SLI3

    Well, yeah, that's what it says. But the board won't post randomly, even though the memory is fine (15 passes of memtest86+) and the settings are set in BIOS as per the manual here:

    So I called EVGA EU and a tech support guy said that rev 1.0 wouldn't support 6-cores, only the rev 1.1 and 1.2 boards would,, and a hardware mod is required.

    Was this ever resolved?  I'm having a similar issue trying to install an X5670 in my SLI3.  EVGA page says it should be supported and I've tried with BIOS versions 82 and 83 and it doesn't POST. Just sits on FF on startup. 
     
    Tried pulling the battery for a bit, swapping out RAM, etc.  No dice.

    Best way to find that out is to PM the owner of the original post. If you can't PM then you'll need a few more posts under your belt before you can.
