So I advance RMA'd my 670 FTW after it began continuously crashing in games. Today I received my replacement 670 FTW and popped it in. I removed old drivers and all that good stuff installed the newest ones and then I decided to check my email. when chrome loaded up I began noticing something was off but after a few more minutes I really started noticing all these artifacts all over the place. Any time I moved my mouse there was artifacting. I thought maybe it was just chrome so I loaded up WoW and holy crap! Major artifacts all over the place! I thought this isn't good and attempted to reseat the card and check the connections. Nothing was fixing it. I have sent in a question via my open RMA about what to do now. For the time being I have reinserted my old card because hey at least it will run windows and surf the web just fine (just no games I guess). I'm not sure what EVGA wants me to do from here but I'm kinda disappointed in them, I held them in very high regard and recommend them to everyone. I have had several EVGA cards and this is the only one that has given me an issue and its becoming older now but I guess I just overestimated EVGA quality. Just wanted to vent a little and share my experience. Not bashing EVGA by any means still love the company. They have always given me great service in the past and I'm sure this will get resolved somehow.

I feel your frustration. The same thing happen to me years ago. What made it worse for me was no cross shipping back then.

What kills me about this is that they keep suggesting that I have a faulty PSU "manifesting" both of my cards like a bad influence. I told them that the PSU is an NZXT 850W PSU, brand new and powering everything else just fine. They are stuck on it being the 12v rail, at first I couldnt find the 12v rail in my bios but I did and its fine. To further prove its not the PSU today I reconnected my old Corsair 850W and it also did not make either 670 magically better.

When you replaced the PSU with the Corsair PSU did you also replace the Cables that came with the Corsair PSU or do you use the cables that came with the NZXT PSU? If you are asking for help with your rig then provide your systems information. Information about your Computer to allow members to help you. No bcavnaugh I just wanted to share my experience through this process with others and vent a little. Also when I tried the corsair PSU I completely removed the NZXT PSU from the case along with all cabling. EVGA got back with me today and are now sending out another 670 FTW replacement so hopefully this one was actually tested. I think I have figured out why my original card is crashing however. It is reaching almost 90 degrees when running any game for a period of time which I was not monitoring until now. It will run a game for an hour or so and just decides it's had enough and the game crashes. I tried cleaning it to remove any dust but did not remove the casing around the GPU because I didn't want to void a warranty but they told me today that I can remove this to clean it so I may try that before the new card arrives. If this does indeed fix my original card then great they said I can just cancel the RMA. I do want to reinforce that I am in no way bashing EVGA (or at least not trying to) I have had several of their cards over the years and none have ever given me a problem until now. I will most likely continue to purchase EVGA when I upgrade but I just want to share my experience. I believe when this RMA process is over EVGA will make it right like they always do which is why I chose them to begin with. When I bought this 670 it was actually a 670 SC edition that was faulty and they upgraded me to a 670 FTW at no additional charge. Can't beat quality like that.

The card will also throttle @ over 79C You may wish to try a custom fan profile and also look to the case cooling in your rig - as you are aware case temps are affected by all the electrical components producing heat not just the GPU

Okay time to update, I received the replacement card today and I was a little shocked when I opened the box thinking they had sent the wrong card. It looks like they sent a 770 SC to replace the faulty 670's. I checked the product page making sure it was in fact the correct card they intended to send. I installed the card and everything booted up fine and showed no signs of artifacting or any other issues. I tested it playing several games and also no issues. Looks like EVGA lives up to their reputation of outstanding customer service once again. I should have never doubted them but I was frustrated. EVGA has gone above and beyond for me (as they always do) and it is truly appreciated. It is now time to send back the broken cards and wipe my hands of them for good. This is the reason you buy EVGA brand products. Thank you EVGA!
