Hey I live there! Detroit has been a dying city for the past 25 years or more but yes I would say this is a good video about the last decade worth of events. Also I think it is funny that they had some of the city council members speak when they are bad people for this beautiful city.

Both Chicago and Detroit are at the bottom of the list of places I'd willingly live. That being said I lived in Chicago area for 3 years and was frequently in Detroit area. Noting about either is appealing to me.

As a states, and city make it more and more difficult for industry to operate, the result once the manufacturing industry starts operating in the negatives, they do the next logical thing, leave... the result no new money coming in,  loss of jobs, mass unemployment, turns any state, or city into a dying one.. the city and the state have no one else to blame but themselves...

It's all a shell game. The money has to come from somewhere to pay pensioners. Work will move away if you put undue burdens on it and make products people don't want. Frankly, we're doing similar things with the US government right now. Obama is trying to be everyone's buddy and writing bad checks in the process.
