I'd like to know if the Driver and Utilities Installation CD that came with my 141-BL-E760-A1 (EVGA X58 SLI Classified) motherboard has the drivers needed for Win7 64-bit OS. I poked around on the disc and found Vista and XP driver support but not Win7?

Which begs the question, do I use the disc that came with the mobo anyway, or do I need to download the drivers piecemeal from the Support page, which the drivers you download there still don't indicate if they are compatible with Win7 64-bit OS.

Thanks!

It's always a good idea to go to the chip manufacturers site for the newest driver releases. In your case a trip to Realtek's site will get you the audio and LAN drivers, and visiting Intel's site for the latest chipset drivers is a good idea too.  Realtek has a habit of updating drivers almost weekly sometimes.  The Intel chipset drivers have not been updated for a while so the ones on the CD might be the latest.

Thanks for your replies guys. I went to Intel's site and looked for chipset drivers for the x58 chipset and they did not have any for download. Is this normal?

If you see a audio/LAN driver from realtek that's dated around mid/late December of 2009 in your search, AVOID it.

It has cause a lot of people issues here for some reason or another with SATA ports failing. Not everyone, but a good enough amount that EVGA opened a investigation into it. Some of those with the issues rolled back to a different driver after installing the one I have mentioned (be it by system restore/uninstall-reinstall etc etc) and it solved their issue.

    Just a friendly heads up!

Yes, I remember that too, but those have already been removed and updated AFAIK.  And it was just the LAN driver causing problem

Win7 (not RC) installs all the drivers you need by default, except for Intel IMSM if you are using a RAID array. There's no need to install other drivers for your mobo.

    Main (gaming) rig: i7-3930K; Asus Rampage IV Extreme; H100 W/p-p Excaliburs, AS5; MSI 7870 2GD5/OC; Crucial M4 SSD 256GB.
See my primary ModsRigs: Adam for the rest, and I have a second (wife's) rig Asus Rampage III Extreme & 960: Eve.

Thanks very much for the link! I figured out what I was doing wrong. I was selecting "Desktop Chipsets" instead of "Chipset Software" for the product line.

Anyhow, I'm still looking for an updated RAID, LAN, JMicron, and Intel_MSM driver for an EVGA E760 x58 motherboard. Any idea where these can be had?
