Dominator platinum for looks, anything you can afford for functionality, the dark isn’t out, so there is no QVL for it at this time, and we all knows EVGA is not good at updating QVLs once the boards are out.

You are on right way. Dear god, i9. I told you. Dominator Platinum Torque, 3200MHz 4x8GB C14. Price is same as normal version. I doubt CORSAIR didn't care about them at least little more than on normal version. https://www.newegg.com/Pr..._-20-236-230-_-Product I would even replace silver top on Torque with black and white LED. Than Dominator Platinum would be full black with white LED and full compatible color scheme with black X299 and white fonts. You have other great option same from CORSAIR and same perfect fit on EVGA X299 Dark, Vengeance White 3200MHz 4x8GB C16 CMU32GX4M4C3200C16. But price is almost same. I would not think at all... Off course Dominator, I like everything on them even if I know that all memories no matter on numbers good modules go only in most expensive kits and difference is minimal. But If Vengeance cost 450$, why not to pay 460 or 470 for Dominator Platinum. I don't like RGB memory, and LEDs on Dominator Platinum are somehow nicer than on Vengeance.

What you choose? Dominator Platinum? I believe you will enjoy in platform. I hope you will post pictures of RIG. Make photo of EVERYTHING, motherboard, without and with CPU in socket, with memory installed, inside case and out of case, EVERYTHING. And later off course MODS RIGs. I can't wait to update my MODS RIGs pictures when I replace my case with BH8. Maybe even some other changes inside. Pictures of installation everything one by one thing. But only 6 is possible max.

I went from Dominator Platinum 32 gb of 3200MHz memory on my X99 i7-6950X to G.Skill 32 gb 3600 MHz 16-16-16-38 memory on my X299 i9-7980Xe machine. I would highly recommend the G.Skill kit over any Corsair kit it is a much better overclocking kit with higher binned modules. I have my memory overclocked to 4000MHz 16-17-16-36 1T and it's fast. X299 is a great overclocking platform with good cooling. This is my 24/7 OC @4.4 GHz 3.0 Cashe (Mesh) memory @ 4000 MHz vdimm @ 1.410v, vsa @ .800v and vccio @ 1.100v.

I'm glad you listen my advice. You will be satisfied, GSkill is great memory as well, and EVGA always test and some GSkill kits on their boards, but GSkill Trident Z is only 50$ cheaper, same speed, same size. Maybe even higher timmings. Don't throw box of memory in garbage. If you keep them nice you will get nice price later. Sometimes older memory reach pretty high price. Mostly because some users don't want to invest in new platform. On EBay I see Dominator Platinum DDR3 kits, 32 GB 4x8 GB 2133-2400 C10 are sell easy for 250$. I can't wait to see your new X299 motherboard. I hope EVGA will finish them soon. I look on Internet and Ebay, 90% of people didn't saw small plastic foil on CORSAIR logo on side of Dominator Platinum. They keep plastic foil inside RIG. Yesterday I searched pictures of used Dominator Platinum and non of them remove that... Hahahahaa Silver CORSAIR logo can't shine nice with foil over.

I looked prices on i9-7900X on Ebay and bid for some of them and i7-7820X, Samsung 1TB M.2 and such things. But very rear you can buy for some really nice price, usually reach almost same price as in stores. Except one i9-7900X was sold for 500 euro. But for me is same is it retail or OEM or tray. X299 Dark is incredible mobo for BH8 Caselabs. Where you plan to install your hardware? Benchtable, Case. I like to install everything out of box except GPU and sound card and than to remove in case. I like ROG motherboards, but to be honest I would happy replace RVE X99 for X299 Dark. Anyway I'm not completaly happie if mobo is not full black. I waited Rampage Black Edition 3 months with CPU and mobo on table, and than I didn't want to wait any more because RVE was available and most because nobody know when will be launched. She show up more than one year after. But for X299 Dark you know that she is almost finished.

OMG. Hmmm... Memory results on X299 are far better than X99 I saw that immediately. But you can't install old kits 2400-3000MHz and expect such results. And processor with 18 cores. I would like to keep i9-7900X on 4.5GHz.

The torque RAM is nice, but not everyone likes the color scheme. Not really something you can stick in your current system and expect it to fit in visually. IMO you kinda have to build around the kit. That's what I like about it. Got the quad channel kit #12... I'm just waiting for the damn Micro to be available in EU.

Altough both are similar, EVGA is a bit quieter. I would go for looks.
