    It's about 5 years old or so? What parts are you keeping? Just going to upgrade the mb and cpu? are those 780s?

    What CPU are you running in that system now?  A $80 6 core Xeon may be a way to hold you over for a few months.

    I was updating the cpu and motherboard and they are 2 780's.
    What 6 core Xeon Nathanf?
    I was thinking about waiting for ddr4 but my i7  920 @ 4.3ghz is a bit of a bottleneck, its not huge but its enough.

    There is a reason I have three of the X58 Classy E760s waiting for me at home when I get off of deployment.  They are still some pretty nice boards and really for 1080p gaming any card you would need to drive great FPS wouldn't really be bottle necked by the system with the right overclocks.  For me to have spare gaming rigs for LAN parties these were at the right price points to build some solid rigs for around the $500-600 mark.  Looking forward to seeing the upgrade!

    You can also buy used upper level CPUs for that board a good prices if you want.
