Is there not a port on the MOBO IO that has power even when suspended or off? I'm trying to find where I can leave my iPod plugged into computer and it'll charge when my computer goes to sleep. Not having much luck.

Your intelligence baffles me -- all hail the expert. Unfortunately there are other motherboard manufacturers (like Asus) that have a powered port. It's simply a question -- no need to be Dr. Phil here.

You can try this. I have not tested it out, but it may do what you're looking for. You would first need to know which USB hub you want to keep hot if this is even going to work. Open the Device Mgr and then the USB controllers as shown. Right click on the hub you want to remain hot. Then go to the Power Management tab. Again, I really don't know if this is a solution to your question, but it was the only thing I could think of for this with this board.

That is the correct solution. In other words don't put the port into sleep by default and then you can charge your device.

bdary; GENIUS! Thank you; knew there was a solution out there for this. Now I can leave my iPod plugged in when the computer is asleep.

Just beware that some devices when plugged into a USB port may prevent your computer from going to sleep. Try it and you will see if this happens or not.
