Hi, I have two Supernova PSU and I love them. My 1300w G2 only comes with 2 PCI-e cables that has both 8-pin + 6-pin connectors. The other 4 red cables only has the 8-pin connector. I'm wondering if I can buy 4 extra cables with both 8pin and 6pin connectors for my two PSUs? I've heard EVGA has stellar customer service and RMA program, so I'm hoping EVGA can help me with this request. I can provide proof of ownership of these PSUs if needed. Thank you.

Hello WhiteFireDragon, Unfortunately we do not have individual cables available for sale. The power supply only comes with enough connectors for the maximum amount of power it can provide. For each additional cable with 2 connectors, you would loose an additional PCI-e connector on the power supply. So for example if you wanted 2 additional cables with both 8-pin and 6-pin connectors, you would be unable to use the 2 other PCI-e connectors on the power supply because you would be trying to pull more power from the power supply than it is able to provide.

Thanks for the reply, Matt. But how do you know I'll be pulling more power than what the PSU can provide? I have a killawat to measure power draw, and so I'm not overloading the PSU. Also, this PSU has a single 12v rail, not multi rails so I don't have to worry about evenly splitting power between rails. The main reason why I'm asking is because after two video cards with 2 6-pin plugs, I'm then forced to use two cables to power the card instead of just one cable with two headers (6pin + 8pin). I basically want to use 4 pci-e cables and leave 2 modular slots empty, rather than use 6 slots for the 4 cards that require 2 power plugs. It's just more elegant and less cables to manage. I would imagine you guys have spare parts to test the PSUs in case of RMA, or other situations that would need a cable.

The power supply comes with 8 PCI-e power connectors to plug into cards. If you were to use 6 cables that had 2 connectors on each one, that would be 12 total connectors. This may work if you have a low end system that doesn't pull much power aside from the graphics cards, however we did not provide the cables with 2 connectors for a reason. I can forward this thread on, to see if someone is able to provide you with additional cables.

Hello, You could use up to (4) 6+2pin + 6pin cables on the 1300G2, but unfortunately it only does come with (2) of these cables. Right now we do not offer any cables sold separately and we cannot offer used cables to break up a complete set. If you could find the extra cables you are looking for I do not see a problem with that working if you have (4) instead of (2) to have the (2) free slots like you want. Keep an eye out on our website for more details on cable options for our PSU Product line. -Mike

Thanks MikeF. Yes, I want to have 4 cables plugged in and leave 2 empty. It's for the sake of tidiness and cable management. Do you know roughly the ETA on these spare cables? EVGATech_MattV The power supply comes with 8 PCI-e power connectors to plug into cards. If you were to use 6 cables that had 2 connectors on each one, that would be 12 total connectors. If you're thinking that someone might overload the PSU with 6 high end GPUs with 2 connectors each, this is not the case here. But including the cables does give people more options of using less cables in certain setups. For example, a R9 270x requires 2 power connectors, but only pulls 180w max. Even if you loaded this PSU with 4 of these 270x, it wouldn't break a sweat. With the cables included, I'd have to use all 6 PCI-e cables to power 4 instead of just 4 single cables. I would much rather have this PSU have only 4 modular pci-e slots and 4 cables with 6pin + 8pin cables, rather than the current 6 modular cable slots with 4 cables with 8pin and only 2 cables with 6pin + 8pin. All of Antec's high end PSUs have the former cable arrangements. The latter just doesn't make sense, so not sure why it was engineered this way. What also doesn't make any sense is the 1000w G2 has the same exact modular cable configuration, even though it has a lower max wattage. MattV, thank you in advance for forwarding this to the appropriate places. And if anyone reading this is willing to trade me 2 cables with 6pin + 8pin for 4 cables with 8-pin, please PM/email me! Or I'm willing to buy your extra 6pin + 8pin cable.
