it all depends I guess on how you like your mouse speed, I have my mouse running at 6000 dpi, and I'm on a 4k screen, that said I'm not sure if screen resolution is really impacting it much, my second screen in 1080p and it's not really much faster on that screen than the 4k, so some other settings might be a factor when it comes to real dpi maybe windows scaling or something? I'm not well informed on mouse specs and how all that works with acceleration, scaling and such.

as far as I know, the highest dpi mice I've seen max out at 12,000, but I don't think EVGA has one of them. ( I think Logitech might however)

Theres really no point in running that high of a dpi if you just counterbalance with a lower windows sensitivity which you probably are.
DPI or prolly more correct CPI really only stands for the distance the cursor travels on your screen for every inch it moves on your mousepad.

Well you can just up your windows sensitivity more then, you should actually do it in the windows settings since the unleashed software for one only has 10 instead of 11 steps of sensitivity it was also quite buggy for me and randomly added a count or didnt save changes sometimes.
Tracking is definitely more likely to fail on higher dpi, so if you notice any jitter or something like that you should lower it.
Do you also play games with a sensitivity similar to the one in windows?

BlackWing88 What is the DPI on your Mouse Pad?
Our Engineering Mouse Pads are 12000x12000 DPI then they are also larger than a standard pad.

8200 dpi! Wow.. Do you actually move the mouse at all, or just think about it and it goes.

    I am on 600 or 800...

Yeah, mine is at 1650 most of the time. It was explained to me that those really high dpi settings were there so you could span an ultra-wide monitor.

"DPI is different from the typical mouse sensitivity setting. DPI refers to a mouse’s hardware capabilities, while sensitivity is just a software setting. For example, let’s say you have a very cheap mouse with low DPI and you crank up the sensitivity. If you tried to aim at small targets, you’ll see the mouse cursor jump around as you move it."

Yeah you are definitely gonna skip pixels if you go to low but most pros still play 400 dpi out of habit in things like counterstrike and they dont seem to have any issue with it.
