So I tried k boost a couple times and turned it off. Yesterday when my pc was idle I noticed the gpu was running warmer than usual for idle. I fired up precision x to check it and sure enough the the was running maxed like k boost was on. I dont have precision x set to start with windows. I had to turn on k boost then turn it back off and my card finally idled. Today when I booted up first thing I checked was the card and sure enough its set to max again. Had to turn k boost on and off again. Even though it doesnt start with windows has precision x changed something in my card?

If you have max performance checked in the nvidia drivers, that can cause a similar symptom, tho its not the same as k-boost.
