Hey nice upgrade mate As mobo goes you could go for the MSI Z87 GD-65 Gaming, these seem to do very well here in The Netherlands. Their RMA services are also seen as high praised, as their hardware quality seemed to have improved greatly. Here a neat detailed review of the MSI Z87 GD-65 Gaming http://techreport.com/rev...g-motherboard-reviewed As AsRock goes, don't do it man, many of my friends have had major issues with that brand and it's a B-Brand compared to EVGA, MSI, ASUS & Gigabyte. They lack many things yu'd expect from it, the parts are also consisted of less great quality than the other A-Brands, the MSI Z87 GD-65 Gaming has the greatest choice of all Z87 boards of you seek a good all round solution. Please make pics with your progress, your builds have always been pieces of hardware art to me

Already bought the board, if I don't like it, I'll just return it and get something else. I only had a budget of roughly $350 for the motherboard. MSI board looks good, but it doesn't do 16x 16x at PCIe 3.0, and doesn't have Wireless ac. Two key things I ma looking at. Need to pick up a Wireless ac router yet, but that is not very important right now.

hmm PCI-E 3.0 x4 is hardly used, which is equivilant to PCI-E 2.0 x8 and PCI-E 1.1 x16 I run my GTX 680's in 2x PCI-E 1.1 x16 slots with 32 lanes in 2-Way SLI even being 32 PCI-E 1.1 lanes which is the same as 16 PCI-E 2.0 lanes and 8 PCI-E 3.0 lanes, yet though my GTX 680's run every DX11 game maxed out @ 1920 x 1200 without any problems what so ever. So that made me realize that it does not really matter what you have as PCI-E version and PCI-E bus speeds go, I have tested them all out PCI-E 1.0, 1.1, 2.0 , 2.1 and 3.0 x16 cards and all do fine in any of the PCI-E slots. Here all the PCI-Express supported VGA cards I had which I have tested and had as an old collection :) ATi/AMD NVIDIA: And the ones I have now, which is kind of a mixed brew, that are these: Even if you have a mobo with 2x PCI-E 3.0 x8, that is mega plenty even for a few Titans, these hardly take advantage of PCI-E 3.0 x8 also Another interesting thing was when I ran my HIS ATi Radeon HD 3850 ICEQ3 Turbo AGP 512MB 256Bit GDDR3 @ HD 3870 Speeds It was even faster in AGP 3.0 x8 than a HD 3870 PCI-E 512MB 256Bit GDDR4 in PCI-E 1.1 x16! As where AGP 3.0 x8 is equivalent to PCI-E 1.1 x4, take that as a good example to what all them PCI Express variants go, a lower PCI-Express bus won't hurt, since today's VGA cards hardly benefit from PCI-E 3.0 x4 signals. It's the sad truth, all them PCI-E versions is mainly marketing, they do have theoretical numbers for sure, but they are hardly even reached with today's hardware, by the time they are fully used, well you'd have PCI-E 7.0 maybe and still have a similar problem we have now, companies make loads of money with this PCI-E stuff and that is kind of a waste if you'd ask me. The MSI will give you better OC's I do think and Also much lesser chance in RMA's but yeah, I hope all goes well

Baltothewolf I am jelly! Does this mean that 930 is going to need a new home >.>? My DangerDen case, i7 930 w/block (I have two 1366 blocks), E760 w/block (no air heatsink, so no warranty coverage unless you source one), RAM, EVGA Powerboost, PSU (missing several cables), and a radiator. Possibly the 360mm but it could be the 480mm rad, depends on the vision of the build. Case would be a local sale, but the rest minus the rad I would ship at $575 I think. Which is how it will hit the market place at first. Then most likely go to a part out if no one bites. Pics of new parts in first post.

Not even going to post pictures of the finished build. Corsair failed hard on the shipping of the 900D. When I got it, I had a drive cage just tumbling around on the inside. A few HDD Sleds were running around loose as well. Have a lower door with a dinged corner, and the door doesn't fold correctly anymore. But those aren't the reasons why I will not post pictures after eight hours of tearing my old rig down and building this one. It's my side panel window. You would think, you would find a protective film on both sides of the thing, but not on the flag ship case of Corsair. No, what I found was one large film on the outside, and maybe a 6x6 inch square on the inside. Um, excuse me, what good does that to to protect the window? Well it did absolutely NOTHING to protect the window from the loose drive cage during shipping. Actually, I think I will post a picture, just one more, of the damaged window Corsair failed to protect properly. I'll get that in a bit. Until I get a new window for free, there will be no pictures of it. Also that other 8GB of 2133MHz Corsair Dominator Platinum RAM I was going to buy, not going to happen.

As soon as I am done installing everything and getting it all set up again I will contact Corsair and get them to send me a new window. Besides the window, everything seems to be going smooth. The Wireless that is built in is not as powerful as my WNDA4100 USB Wireless adapter. So I disabled the on board WiFi. Bluetooth works good, no issues with that, currently streaming music from my phone to my computer till I can get WinAmp installed again. BIOS on the ASRock board is nice. I was going to manually overclock the board then I said screw it, don't feel like it and don't have the patience for it anymore really. So I had it set to 4.8GHz and while I have not done any stress testing yet, everything seems to be good. Wish I had a Thunderbolt device to test, I have two ports for them. Um... case is big, lots of room for things. Tons of room behind mobo tray. Can fit one of these in the back assuming you have changed the 4 Pin connection (You have to anyways) to a 90 degree angle so the wire lays flat. Have 12 fans hooked up to it with zero issues and the side panel goes on without force. Waiting for a RAID to Initialize still takes till the end of time.

rjohnson11 Great overclock. Did you have any problems getting it to 4.5GHZ? No, it was rather easy actually. I started with something like 1.3 volts put the multiplier at 44 and started from there. Got to 46 but the heat was to much at 1.32v and it started to throttle. So I went back to 45 and worked the voltage down.

ASRock responded to my shutdown issue, suggestion didn't work though, and I have noticed some other things that are not working right. I tried C7 Sleep, that didn't go so well, and sometimes my windows boot times takes forever. Also my mouse isn't recognized and I have to replug it in. Looks SWEET, great job!!! I have to ask, what fan controller is that you are using? I am looking for something similar, all I could find was this. I am unsure of what Corsair link actually does, and if it even works, so I think I plan to stay away from that.

BitsPower X-Station If you just need fans, get the NZXT hub you linked, if you need more than fans, get something like what I linked. Not all the fan headers on it run at 12v though, some run at 12v, 7v, then some at 5v. If you want to plug stuff into the Molex you will need adapters or rewire the ends of whatever it is you plan to plug in.
