Hey everyone,

So I have my old x58 board and I'm trying to upgrade Ram from my Corsair Dominator 3 stick 2048MD 1600Mhz to the Corsair Vengeance 2 stick 8GB 1866MHz. I have found a few forums with similar issues but I have had no luck. When I insert The new stick, it stays in loop ad refuses to boot. Can anyone assist me with the proper settings?

8GB sticks technically are not supported on socket 1366 processors.  Some people are able to get them to work, but it's not officially supported.  Make sure that you have the memory in the non-black memory DIMMs.

Fiddle around, putting the DIMMS into different slots.

if you are trying to use only 2 sticks that may be part of the issue. that board is a triple
channel board you need three sticks and run them at 1600 mhz like I am running my
24 gigs of corsair platinum memory. what are your memory timmings set at and at what voltage
    and what frequency.

I had this problem also. I decided to do an RMA to newegg and buy gskills, which are awesome and works flawless with my X58.

    Hope it helps!

You can try to overclock to try and get the memory to work.

You can also manually underclock the RAM

You really need 3 sticks of ram in the X58 chipset for optimal performance. Lower voltage ram might work. You didn't list the part number of your ram so I can't investigate further.

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X,  Corsair Mp700 Pro M.2, 64GB Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5  X670E Steel Legend, MSI RTX 4090 Associate Code: H5U80QBH6BH0AXF. I am NOT an employee of EVGA

Also have you tested the RAM to see if it was a RAM issue?
Also you might want to return those sticks and get a 12gb triple channel kit (4gbx3)
