As some may know here, that is my #1 pick for college, looking at Aerospace/Computer Engineering and possibly being on the swim team. So far, I've completed the PCQ, and submitted applications to Florida Senators Rubio and Nelson, in addition to Congressman Crenshaw. I got Rubio's letter a few days ago saying basically that I was declined for his nomination.  Just got Nelson's letter too... Inviting me to an interview!  Just thought I'd post an update on that, and I'm super excited.

Thanks guys. Can't say anything political about it but let's go with he's not my favorite. Heh. The fact that I got an interview though is VERY exciting, and I've been studying for it.

Best of luck Halo. Several members of my family were military over the years, Air Force included (my great grand fathers medals and letters stated Army Air Corpse.... so yeah, military for a while) and many friends have been in Army, Marines Navy etc. I hope you get in and best of luck, and thank you ahead of time for your service.

As an Air Force veteran myself I wish you the best of luck. Though...I never really understood why on earth you have to go through so many loopholes and boundaries like getting a letter of recommendation from your state senator (who's probably a complete stranger to you anyway) just to freaking serve your country without having to pick up cigarette butts and cleaning toilets for your first four years or so. I missed my chance at being an officer since I wasn't sure I wanted to be in the air force for the rest of my life at 16~17 years old nor does 99.9999% of the rest of the country. If this is what you really want to do (and you probably won't regret it) then definitely go 100% because you won't get another chance again unless you have some 4.0 GPA with a college degree in nuclear physics or something. This is while being the captain of the football team, track team, and basketball team all at the same time since that's all they look for these days for Officer Training School since the AF is downsizing so much.

Thanks guys.
Had the interview today. I was well prepared for it I think, and even then some of the questions were surprising. Without going into specifics, I think it went really well, I had three guys interviewing me which was more than a little intimidating.
Hoping for the best, should find out about Nelson's nomination next month.

@Bowenac The Air Force Academy is a deeply political process for entry. It requires elected officials to nominate them for admittance. It's the officer's candidate school for the Air Force.

So by going to the Air Force Academy College you are basically enrolling in the Air Force?
