Hi all. I've been out of touch with PC parts over last 2 years but have now decided to build a new gaming rig with £1700 to spend.
I have win 7 x64 and 8 already. But have no idea what CPU, mobo, ram etc.. To buy.
The rig will just be a gaming rig and I want to be able to overclock it myself
My last rig was evga classified 759, i7 980x and had various gpu's from 2 hd5970. Also had gtx 590

So open to suggestions and reasons why I would buy various parts

Your help is much appreciated

Only issue I can see with his set up is that

    A) he's in surround and sorry to say this the 590 is not keeping up
    B) which brings us to the 590 not being able to keep up
    C) that tiny SSD should go also

Other than that OP everything else can stay if its working out for you.  Personally would trade out the NH-U12P for a NH-D14 or a Corsair H100i or NZXT Kraken X60.

Would dump the 590 for a 4GB GTX670/680 in SLI or 7950/7970 in CFX if you want to continue using 3 monitors.  And obviously if you're gonna play in 3D I hear Nvidia's implementation is much better and better supported so 670/680 in SLI than maybe add a third one.  Since even Max Payne with a GTX690 with a single 1080p in 3D is a heavy burden on that GPU.

And the SSD, prices have dropped so far you could probably pick up a 256GB for not that much.  I know 120/128s have been around 80~150 USD ( know you're not in the USA but I'm sure you could find it for less than 100 Euro).

Agreed, those would be the only upgrades necessary, GPU and SSD
