Hey there,

I bought myself a new graphics Card 2 Days ago. Now I have a Problem with this Card while playing Crysis 3.
I Player some time thought the first Level, not Problem. Now I am in the second Level and the game keeps crashing with the error
"DXGI_Error_Device_Removed". I googled a bit and some ppl say that it is the the overclocked graphics Card.

- newest Nvidia Driver installed
- temp max <80 degree celcius
- no overclock, except the stock overclock

The game crashes sometime after 10 min, sometimes after 1min and when the game is crashed I can not launch it again.
During the Intro (Logos etc.) the same error occur. After a PC restart the same procedure again - 1-10min gameplay ingame ... Crash ...

some ideas? If not I have to send this Card back to my reseller and buy myself another one :(

You didn't list your system specs nor what driver you're using (you mention the newest but didn't say which version number it is) or your operating system. Crysis 3 really needs the 314.09 driver if you haven't already installed it.

    sorry my fault :(
I have tried 314.09 and the bit older 313.96 BETA Driver. Both have the same error.
The rest of my sys ist a I5-3570k + ASROCK Z77 MB, a Creative XFI Titanium Sound Card.
The System is running on Windows 8 Pro.

This error has been posted over at the Crysis forums and they are investigating. Using EVGA Precision X take your clocks down to what a reference card would be:

    • 1006Mhz GPU Clock Speed
    • 6008Mhz Memory Clock Speed
Play the game again and see if this error continues to occur.

Regardless of whether it fixes the problem post the info here:

    Hello,
Thanks 4 the replys. I don't have any probs in other games.
I ran some Benchmarks like 3dmark (fire&ice), unigine valley and even furmark.
My PSU should do fine. I had a GTX480 OC before the GTX680.
The 480 consumes much more power than the 680.

There is one Thing I recognized yesterday while playing. I increased the GPU-Voltage by 50 mV via MSI Afterburner. Since this I had no more crashes.

I will Keep you up to date with this.

PSUs have a finite life. A unit may be fine for pulling 600w for years, and then later fail to deliver 400w to spec simply because the capacitors have worn out.
It would really help to know what unit it is and when you got it.
It may be that Crysis 3 is causing the system to hover around a particular unstable boost clock that other benchmarks/games tend to not hit often. It could also be a problem with the game, or also with a particular function of the hardware other games don't stress.
Regardless, hopefully it's just a software error and is fixed with a patch!

    Hi,

I've got the same problem with my GTX 680 4Gb 2 Way SLI on Crysis 3.
Mostly happend when I overclock the cards using Precision X.
Maybe heating problem. Hope it's software though..
Let me know if you could fix the problem somehow.

change your fan profiles.  I had to set my profiles to stop crashing in BF3, PS2, and (sometimes) GW2.  I have found if I can keep my card from hitting 60 deg.  I am fine and can play for hours until boredom sets in.
