fahclient (v7) gui unstable/crashing

Hello all
 
As of recently my v7 gui is unstable.
 
I run the client on boot and all will seem fine but at some random time the fahclient.exe will become unstable and consume a constant 13% of my cpu
BUT this only happens when I'm running fahcontrol
 
I ran the fahclient on it's own overnight and all was well and dandy.
 
At first I thought it was because I was also monitoring 2 other pc's but I removed them from the list and it still persists.
also running control seems to make my pc sluggish even though it's not using any cpu cycles when it is stable.
 
any insight appreciated.

    I  am seeing some issues on my q6600 but not as bad as you have it
     
    yes i do have the occasional hang up/lag when running it
    more so if you run for a long period (possible memory leak)
    the frightening thing Is I see no/little cpu usage ..just hang/lag
     
    but even if I shutdown FAH completely there is still lag/hanging if you use a program that taxes the gpu a lot
     
    two issues - Nvidia has a lag issue in the drivers
     
    GPU core was modified and there was a Nvidia driver issue addressed in it - and poorer performance for fermis
    ( v2.25)
     
     
    I point the finger at Nvidia more so than FAH

    yeah it's weird as the program doesn't hang but clicking exit doesn't work either.
     
    that said since I've posted I reloaded the gui and it's been fine.
     
    I wonder if it was related to the a3 core it was working on

    It hung on me last night(this causes Rig to lag) - once I use task manager to terminate it then the computer works fine - even if I restart v7 and continue the WU
