Sorry in advance if this has already been addressed, but I've been combing all over trying to find an answer that works for my situation in hopes that it isn't a bad MB or Processor - RAM too, but that's easily returned and replaced.

I just built a new rig tonight (Yay) and as soon as it was together, I turn 'er on and get 4 short beeps and Code 55 showing on the little LED panel inside the case.

Okay, I look it up and see it is a memory issue. Read around a little and begin to troubleshoot. So far what I've tried is..

1) Loosen CPU cooler, someone said that worked.
2) Tried each stick of RAM in the first red (left to right) DIMM slot. No luck.
3) Tried to reset bios, as well as using all 3 bios pre-installed to see if maybe one of them were bad.
4) Removed the cooler and checked CPU/MB for bent pins - all clean.
5) Made sure all plugs were tightly fit in.
6) Made sure MB had all the 8-pin power connectors it needed. Good to go.

I can't really think of anything else to do except start assuming things are dead and ship them back to Newegg... Any advice would be wonderfully loved and would come with as many thanks as I can give.

The EVGA Z77 FTW does not play well with 4 sticks of RAM at speeds above 1866-2000 MHz. This is an extensively reported issue. If you decide to keep the motherboard, the best recommendation is to use 2 sticks of larger size. I doubt you'd get 2666 MHz RAM even then to work at rated speeds, but it has been done, although that may be luck of the draw with the CPU memory controller too.

I personally ended up switching to a different motherboard when I had the same RAM issues with 4 sticks over a year ago.

It doesn't work with just 1 or even 2 of the sticks in the rig either. EVGA claims that since I haven't been in my BIOS it should use the RAM at a default setting and at least work that far...

Any thoughts on that, or is the board so FUBAR that it just won't work with 4 GB sticks at all?

Edit: After talking to EVGA again, decided to just ship back the Motherboard, Processor, RAM, and power supply since they figured it was one of those that was causing the problems. Hopefully Newegg is nice in getting replacements back to me in a timely fashion.

Sadly thanks to the board being discontinued I went with a different company/brand since I couldn't wait for the new boards to be released.

Still wish I could have gotten one of EVGA's new Haswell boards when they released.

I would never cross on other company because this horror with
EVGA Z77 FTW. But OK I respect other decisions. I'm more limited for some things than not work, for now.
In one period I have few problems now last month is OK. I can't see some problems except I'm aware how my expensive high end motherboard simply can't some basic things.
And Kingpin say in future EVGA will try to make more stable boards with better BIOS. He build EVGA X79 Dark for self and I think together with Z87  Classified and future boards that would be excellent hardware. I don't care who boot CPU on highest clock and where RAM work 1% better.
We only need reliable EVGA boards as before Z68 FTW, P55 Classified 200, X58 series with many great models, Dual Xeon boards people build today after few years...
    When I think limited it's...
Example I know if someone offer me CORSAIR Dominator 2666MHz 4x4GB for only 100$.
I wouldn't bough that because I know that can't work on this motherboard.
I could forget on any XMP board can't read, If I had luck I could keep on 1333MHz.
But's it's more possible crash system or reboots or who knows what people had during 2012/2013 with Z77 FTW.
And some other problems... example instability during change settings in BIOS,...
I remember good RAM was high priority on my list before one year like advantage of Intel platform and reason because I choose hotter IB over Sandy Bridge.
I totally forgot on that and maybe I will stay on this until X99.
