Anyone know what price range would HydroCopper settle at? Is it worth getting regular 980 and buying an EK block, or just wait for HC? Also, any release dates?

Any pics how the back of the HC card will look? Not exactly a fan of the stock 980's backplate design. 980 HC's EVGA logo looks amazing but that's not the part I am seeing through the case window... :)

The waterblock is already available alone, kind of. If you look closely, there is a logo on the block that says "made by EK", and it's awfully similar to this GTX 980 waterblock made by EK, the EK-FC980 GTX. So it looks like EVGA got a custom version of it with their logo. I'm more interested in any potential release date for that card. Anyone got information ?

anyone have any idea if hydrocooper 980 series will work fine with this: Terminal EK-FC Terminal QUAD Semi-Parallel 1pcs http://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-fc-terminal-quad-semi-parallel.html Or if not what else could be used? Plan to get 4 hydrocooper 980 and put them in separate loop for GPUs, only solved most of all other components but guys at EKWB are not sure if this will work on hydrocooper so... any help?

I was really hoping the Hydro Copper 780's would have the EVBot port, sadly it looks like they won't, I'll wait for the Classifieds and slap water block's on them.

I'll be upgrading from two EVGA GeForce GTX 590 Classified HC cards soon, and I'm unsure which version of the GTX 980 to select. I was rather disappointed with the overclocking potential of my current cards and, as a result, I'm not convinced water cooling is worth the extra cost, labor, and maintenance for GPUs. Since I often feel compelled to upgrade my GPUs more frequently, despite the long period over which I have retained my 590s, I am currently considering the standard air-cooled 980s for this revision. Air-cooled cards are easier to sell and require less work to install (i.e., no need to drain, connect, and fill the entire system), which would streamline my upgrade cycle. Does anyone have any thoughts on the overclocking potential of the HC 980s? How will it compare to the air-cooled cards? I'm looking for more than the canonical response of better temperatures equate to better overclocking; voltage limitations, like on my GTX 590s, often mean that the thermal headroom of water cooling is wasted. Temps between 35C and 40C are meaningless to me if they don't enable better overclocking potential. Any updates on availability for the GTX 980 HC? Price? Why did EVGA pursue EK blocks instead of remaining with Swiftech? iamSneaky I was really hoping the Hydro Copper 780's would have the EVBot port, sadly it looks like they won't, I'll wait for the Classifieds and slap water block's on them.
I don't own an EVBot, but should I pursue one for the GTX 980? How does the HC block interfere with the EVBot port? Any reason why I wouldn't pursue the EVGA/EK water block?

The only Card with EVBot port in the 980 series looks like it will be the Classified. Early pics of the 980 Hydro Copper (This is NOT a Classified HC card) show no EVBot port present. If a 980 Classified HC comes out I would presume the EVBot port would be there on that card.

Can we please get an overview of the materials used in the cooling block? I'm not too keen on introducing nickel or aluminium into my fully copper & brass loop.

Nickel copper and brass are all compatible with each other. Hell nickel is *plated* on copper, so they're obviously compatible. No reputable company puts aluminum in watercooling gear anymore.

Any news on 8GB HydroCopper models? I read that 8GB GTX980s are expected between October/November/December. I can wait for two months if that means 4GB more VRAM.

Macto1990Will there be a loss of warranty when I remove the connectionblock and replace it with a third-party sli connector? Call EVGA, they'll tell you what you need to know, but from what I was told is - YES you're covered if you need to return your GPU for repair or replacement. Just make sure you: 1) Keep the Original Box that the GPU came in. 2) Keep ALL the parts that you took off (to replace it with the waterblock). Also, make sure you don't throw out the thermal padding that came with the GPU. If you need to take it off make sure you put it in a ziplock baggie to keep the thermal padding from collecting dust and other debris, so if you have to return the GPU, you'll be able to restick the thermal padding back on the original places where they were placed. Then put the fan cover back on; as you're going to have put back together the way it came to you factory built. 3) Keep your original purchase receipt of where you bought it (Neweeg.com, Amazon.com or other Authorized Reseller). Don't buy this card off of eBay from another buyer as that may cause transferable warranty issues.

I've always regretted not moving quick enough to secure some of EVGA's hydrocopper series of cards. Can anyone give me a break down historically speaking of how EVGA tends to release these? It seems a reference model is close to release, but clock wise what can one expect from this model? I've also heard about/seen Hydrocopper classified and wondering how much additional benefit those models see over the reference designs. Cost and availability are also inquiries I have. How much of a premium over reference models do these tend to run, and how limited is the availability of them? Basically looking for a run down of these compared to the other models in the product like, ie FTW, SSC, SC ect.

Basically looking for a run down of these compared to the other models in the product like, ie FTW, SSC, SC ect. Usually they release the waterblocked version about 6 to 8 weeks after the release of any new card. Doing it yourself as opposed to waiting for these cards you'll save about $200.00+ off of each card. Plus, I'd prefer doing it myself as I really like EK's opaque/clear cover to be able to view the color you already have in your cooling system right on the card. To me it's not worth spending that much more for an exclusive card that says EVGA. Sure it looks nice, but (again) not worth it to me. I'm sure it's not going to be clocked that much more than the GTX 980 2.0 version. In fact I think 2.0 GPU that I just ordered is going to clocked higher than the waterblocked version...

There *was* a post from Jacob saying it would be out by the end of the month.. Product listing still shows as coming soon.. Either way, there is a rumored 8gb version, so I intend to wait on that. I got burned on the 680's and bought them on day one (3 of them) and really should have waited for the 4gb cards that came a month later. I won't be making that mistake this time
