Hello there, I just switch from Asus X99 mobo to EVGA X99 FTW. I'm really surprise the much cleaner and simplicity of EVGA UEFI BIOS in compare with Asus.... Asus get so much setting which make me feel headache...

Anyway, my EVGA X99 FTW mobo BIOS always shows 435rpm fan speed on SYSFAN1 and SYSFAN2 while there are no any fan connected to these header.... my BIOS is the up-to-date 1.16

Anyone have a similar issue or my mobo is a defective one??

Thank you.

What cooling are you using and where are your fans in general connected too?

I have 3 fans connected straight to the mobo 3 headers - CHA_FANS, CPU_FAN2 and CPU_FAN (these 3 header could control through SMART mode by reading CPU/SYS/PWM temperature reading in BIOS)

for CPU cooling, I have an NZXT X61 AIO , I connected it to PWR_FAN because PWR_FAN header no SMART control in BIOS, I give it running in MAX output for the AIO pump.

That's odd that the vacant headers are showing readings.  Are the other headers being used showing readings as well?

AUX fan shows N/A is normal since I don't have fan connect to it
CPU_FAN2 shows N/A is normal because I have set this fan turned off under current temperature

But both SYS_FANs are abnormal, I don't have any fans connect to it

What don't you use the CPU headers and change them from Smart to Max.
I use both headers for my Memory Fans.

I need the SMART header for "auto" fan speed adjust. I setup the basic rules for those fan in bios

Anyone own a X99FTW mobo could report your scenario?

On 1.16 you can set them to Auto.

Mine is in 1.16 but the AUTO are only available for CHA_FAN, CPU_FAN and CPU_FAN2 only!!??
