currently Im stuck between
 
GA-x79-UD3

the UP4 is the current update to UD3 (by the looks of it ) with 2 banks of quad channel ram (rather than 1)
and it sports Ultra durability 5 (rather than 3) - ...ie Digital VRM
 
practically no difference in price for me
 
Im opting for UP4 now - was on UD3 (because you couldn't get UP4 until this month)

    i have to agree with you on the UP4.  The nice thing is that is has 8 sltos for ram.  Otherwise they are pretty much the same.  Do not know if you plan on doing any overclocking with your cpu.

    How much RAM is Max for 8 slots X79 motherboard, 32GB or more??? Because 4x8GB for 4 slot X79 is same 32GB memory and that is same then. If 4x4GB is little. 8x8 you cant install.
    4x8 or 8x4 is same. But I'm not sure what is best for motherboard
    more modeles less capacity or less modules bigger capacity.

    I believe that board 64 GB with 8x8GB
     
    yes I plan to OC , the x79-UD3(3122 Gskill ram) for my other i7 works fine Overclocking. besides if you plan to have 2400MHZ for the new one you need to OC
