Jacob,  What's the highest tested frequency on this board stable? ....and 4X 4 gb dimms have any problems?

We have done over 3GHz on memory, regarding 4x4 no known issues.

up to 3GHz should do for all of us hehe

... on a side note, it seems that some of EVGA Techs on the phone support think that running memory at 1.50v and at 2133MHz (with Sandy Bridge) damages the memory controller ... it was posted in Z68 section ... ... wondering what they think about running 3GHz memory with Ivy Bridge cpus

Testing the board  got at computex from vince with older bios benching 16GB over 2800 air cooling is really easy lets try latest bios.

Well, so far, I can't get my G skill 2666 to run at native speeds.  I've had to downclock to 2133 at auto timings.  (this was a quick attempt last night as I had other concerns).

I am going to try harder tonight to see if I can get the 2666 with the timings that they are specified to run.  That's why I'm asking about running 3 ghz.  So far, 2133 is memtest stabile and I've dialed in 1.65 volts as specified on the dimms.

try to play with third memory timing and change tRCD and tRP to 13 with Hynix ICs delirious, if you leave auto they are very tight and impossible to pass +2133 or so, try to set all of the third timing at 5 then start to tight them one by one.

ok, I gave TRCD and TRP 13 and set all third timings to 5.  I save and exit the bios and then it goes to code 55, then proceeds to code 23 and sticks.

I have also noted that when you put in 133X muliplier and dial in 2667, when you go back to the volatege menu, it autos to VCCIO 1250 and VSA 1250 and the lower setting goes to 800 PWM frequency control.  ....should this board be auto volting like this?  I didn't notice this at first since I put in the frequencies and saved, but looking back, they auto volt.   I'm using G Skill 2666 4x4gb kit.   I don't know if it's the memory, or the board or the CPU which is limiting 2666.  So far, 2133 is the only stabile frequency and it memtests fine.  Don't know if I should try RMA the memory and getting a new set or what.  I have no way of testing these at 2666

i sent pvt to how to set some other timings but u can try first with 2 modules 8gb on red slots just to see if its ur imc limit or not, 55 means bad ram setting and 23 means cpu imc limit at boot.

For some reason my Bios wont flash to version 1.04...stuck at 1.02.  restored settings to default in bios (except my sata controller is set to RAID)   i run the batch file and it says windows will shut down in less than a minuite and then it shuts down...the machine never turns back on...so i turn the machine on go in to bios (it still says 1.02)  do the reset to defaults again anyway (except RAID) and still 1.02.  any suggestions?

Flash the bios using the USB method, not in the OS

    Re:EVGA Z77 FTW Motherboard - BIOS 1.04 BETA Released Monday, June 18, 2012 11:03 PM (permalink)
So I decided to go ahead and do the update just to stay up to date today.  The BIOS flash went well, everything booted fine on the first attempt.  I rebooted into the BIOS config and changed all my settings back to exactly what I had before for CPU and memory.  Then it just powered on/off until I flipped the PSU switch to cut it off.  I cleared CMOS and tried settings again, bam, same issue.  I then just set the memory to 2133 and didn't manually set the timings OR voltage and presto it boots right up without any issue.  I checked ELEET and sure enough the memory timings are NOT correct, although very close.  So I rebooted one last time to then set the timings and voltage correctly only to end up in the same boot loop.  It doesn't even seem to matter if I touch the voltage because when I set 2133mhz it sets itself to 1.65V which is fine.

So to shorten an annoyingly long process... I used to be able to manually set multiplier/voltage/timings for my 2133mhz memory but now I have to leave everything on auto except setting the 2133mhz part or the BIOS won't even post.  I will also add that I ran memtest for a solid 15 hours with 0 issues on this memory before hand with the old 1.02 BIOS and all the multiplier/voltage/timings set manually.  It's all up and running now but I'm not sure why I can no longer touch the timings or the thing won't even post.

Hello there! I am writing this from a clock of 42x @ 100 BCLK.

I cannot change my RAM settings at all. It is starting to get very annoying. :(

    Here's my system:
EVGA Z77 FTW - Stock BIOS - Currently had success @ clocking with my BIOS '2'
    Intel Core i7 2700K - I want this @ stock
    8GB (4GB x 2) Corsair Dominator GT PC-17066 (2133) 1.5V - I want this at 1600MHz+
Antec H20 920 Cooler - Idling @ 35*C (Hottest Core) Load @ 52*C (Hottest Core) and it's a warm day here in the UK! :->

I can provide further BIOS details etc. I am really new to i7 and this BCLK mullarkey, but very wise to LGA775. So much easier to clock and use.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Oh yeah, and when I first put my Revodrive 3 120GB PCI-E card in it said max SATA speed 6GBPS, now on the same port (PCI-1) it says max SATA speed 3GBPS. ****. It benches better than the ones online - it's just a small quirk I guess.

I have a Corsair HX750 which only has one 12V EATX power lead.
I have had to plug another PCI-E power lead into the board because I use PCI Slot 1 - Revodrive & PCI Slot 4 - EVGA GTX470 SC.

Can you please confirm that both of these are running at 16x, because BIOS says otherwise, and GPU-z says graphics lane size is indeed 2.0x, falling to 1.1x with power management.

    Win7 x64 SP1.

How can I check in BIOS, or make it, so that PCI Slot 1 is indeed receiving 16x? I know it should, but is it?

    **** is PEG?

I believe it says only slots 2 and 4 will do 16X.  PCIe slot one will not.  It's limited to 8X.

Aha, thanks just checking. Revodrive only needs 4x...

Weird about 6GBPS versus 3GBPS. DMI says my GPU is running @ 8x?
Can you help me change my RAM speeds?

Please make your own post about the ram speeds and I or others can help you out. This thead is about feedback on the 1.04 bios.  Post RAM, model Number, timings and voltage.

my 3770K was having an improperly detected (automatic) multiplier in 1.02 BIOS (31x multi by default, 37x multi in Turbo).
this revision fixed it, now running stock 3.5GHz (was 3.1GHz before).
