Bowers and Wilkins P9 and use the rest of the money for a headphone amp/DAC.

Thanks but I keep reading they are uncomfortable. That is why I am leaning toward the Denon. My current Denon headphones Denon AHD2000 I can wear for hours without comfort issues.

Not at all, and my hat size it large.
If you have a Best Buy with a magnolia center they will have a demo pair out, connected to a terrible source.

I think the pads are lambs skin (leather), and they are breathable.

My collection is:
Bose tri-ports
Bose AE2
Bose QC3
Bowers and Wilkins P7
Velodyne Vtrue
Velodyne Vquiet
Velodyne Vleve
Logitech G35

The Bose being the most comfortable and the B&W being the best sounding.
