so the card performs great and all but it OCs like crap, as in +50 (for 1161mhz) on the core, the ram clocks well at +500, is alot of people seeing these abysmal gains or am i just very unlucky

Have you tried setting memory to +0 offset and overclocking the core by itself? Sometimes when memory frequency is maxed out, this limits the core OC a bit. Is your power target at +132?

Try what linuxrouter said, and if that doesn't help then follow StyoFosho's advice.

I get a boost clock of 1149 with a gpu offset of 78 here. Finally found someone with similar overclocking abilities. I wonder if I have the worst overclocking 680 here? Power Target at 132% and the memory is set to 0. Honestly I don't care about overclocking though. A stock 680 is fast enough for me.

Make sure your memory is stable first. If unstable, gpu offset won't matter at all. it will be unstable no matter what. Originally I thought my mem offset was stable @500 offset but after playing certain games it was apparent that it was unstable. In my sli 680 setup I can do 130 gpu 300 mem and 132 power target 100% stable.

Jacob, for instance on another brand of 680 the power target only goes to 111% but voltage is 1.175 all the time. Is it possible to see better OC potential if a bios with a higher power target was flashed?
Currently the card runs @ 1228 core with +31 offset.

Yeah, no 680s are the same, either u get 1 that can't OC things u might need, or u have the Golden-chip that full of awesome. Something that Nvidia should've fixed before shipping out the Cards.

It is weird to see a card that can't hit at least 1200MHz on the Core. Make sure you are setting Power Target to 132%, if you let it at 100% it will not boost much higher than stock. Personally I am stuck to 1235MHz Core and +350MHz Memory to be 100% stable, this is with Power Target at 132%. Can't complain though, it's hard to get 2 good overclocking cards in SLI, one of them hits 1280MHz alone and +400MHz Memory.

My 680 does Power target: 132 Core offset: 118 Mem offset : 525 Core clock 1255 If i try 119 or above card becomes unstable, but 118 after few hours of gaming, benchmarks no problems at all *shrugs Maybe I'll try 0 memory offset and see if I can go above 118 on core offset.

It's perfectly fine to me. I was only expecting my card to boost up to 1058 Mhz and it goes up to 1071 Mhz on it's own. That's a win to me. My friends 680 will boost on it's own up to 1084 Mhz so I don't feel like I'm too far behind talking strickly stock vs stock. Tested with a slight overclock last night with a boost up to 1150 and memory at 400 Mhz with temps staying below 70C. Seemed fine in the Heaven 3.0 Benchmark, will have to test it in BF3 and Crysis 2.

Is it normal to have the settings not able to go above 130%? I see everybody mention 132, but mine maxes out at 130%. it's a 680 sig+ EDIT: Sorry, I don't want to hijack this person's thread, so I made my own HERE in the Precision X forum section.

lots of great advice and thanks but i already tried everything i can with it,the way iv always gone about finding max oc is i start with core first not touching vram find its max then i i find the max possible mem speed whilst leaving core at default once i have both numbers i put em together iv never bothered upping voltage to my gpus, though from what i understand we cant touch the voltage with these cards correct?...so yeah my card is a dud thats why i made this thread to see if many others have had such luck

I'm curious what is your ASIC Quality in gpu-z is? My card doesn't overclock very well at all and have an ASIC Quality of 92.5% in gpu-z .0.6.1. The most I've been able to push my card is 1150 Mhz stable. I'm going to aim for 1161 Mhz tonight to see how it runs. I thought I already tried it but somehow I didn't document it. I like to create an excel spreadsheet of the gpu offset and clock speeds I've tried. In there I enter in if it artifacts or runs stable.
