So i bought a EVGA 02G-P3-1559-RX GeForce GTX 550 Ti (Fermi) 2GB 192-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card alittle while back figuring i would get a cable at some point for the mini-hdmi to regular hdmi for my HDTV and would just use the DVI-VGA and hook it up to just my vga for the time being.
Anyways i just bought a cord for it a few days ago, i turned off my computer took off the dvi-vga and plugged in the mini-hdmi to its port and the hdmi to the port on the back of my tv. i turned on the computer waited about 5 min and the screen remained black. so i figured well lets see if it still works on the VGA port and plugged the dvi back into the card and changed the channel and it was all loaded there. so i spent like 30 min trying to figure it out shutting down and turning back on a few times and nothing was changing. so i took the cable back and got 2 more of different brands and just a mini-hdmi to hdmi converter plug and tried all of them and got the same resaults. even if i leave the dvi in with the hdmi it doesnt see the hdmi option.
Is there some sort of specail cable other then ones that plug into both ends correctly?
or is it that i got a defective mini port?
