Now I personally haven't seen anything like this before so I figured I have to post it here. This is my custom GTX 260 air/water cooler. The GPU is water cooled using a swiftech universal cooler while the rest is cooled by the stock fan cooler. Hope you guys like it. When I save up some more cash I plan on doing a GTX 295 :) or maybe a dual card thing like this :O

I did this a few days ago when I wanted toi use my stock GTX 260 heatsink and a swiftech universal GPU waterblock

I had to remove the newly cut fins one at a time as not to bend the rest of them. Needless to say it was tedious as hell.

I also had to cut two holes for the tubing to pass through.

Not my best work. I should have used a sanding bit. Not too shabby I don't think but I know I could have done better.

I did even them out a bit but my camera battery died so i have no final product pics yet, sorry.

Another mistake I made was cutting the last heatpipe thinking I was going to remove it as well.

I am going to try and solder a new piece of copper tubing there and patch it as I think it will help a little bit in the long run.

Here is what it looks like with the Swiftech

this corner gave me the most trouble

I have since cleaned up the cuts there and on the side of the fins using a dremmel cutting wheel and "shaving" each fin on both sides to get it to look original.

Another "fitting" pic

So i assembled the pieces to see what it is going to look like somewhat.

 Looks like its fitting nicely.

Snap the top on and here's what we have now

After some painting and stuff here is where we are now. Also Yes thats a GTX 275 backplate on there. Looks and works great I think.

ATM I'm working on a P55FTW i7 system all water cooled. I think I may even have enough money for one of the new Nvidia cards soon ;)

Thanks so much guys. Do you guys know if I am eligible for the 1k contest? I think I may not be because I don't have a 3dmark score. Sadly the rig is being upgraded atm with some new hardware. New EVGA FTW 1156 board with an i7 CPU along with some dominator ram . I'm waiting for some parts in the mail and it's killing me. The state of her ATM

Honestly I don't remember. I had a leak in the XSPC  res and had to strip her down so I could replace some stuff. I had screens somewhere of the temps but for the life of me can't find them

Snowman Honestly I don't know. I just removed the stock fans and painted them to look cool.

Here is the updated worklog and where I am up to currently:

Hey again guys. This project is really a take off of my other project after 2 leaks in 2 XSPC dual bay, dual pump res. This time I decided on the EK bay spin res in black ;) Im not sure yet if I'm going to go dual loop or single loop with 2 pumps. Suggestions would be great on that guys.

    Part list:
    Corsair 800D
    Intel i7 860 (1156)
    EVGA P55 FTW SLI 132-LF-E657-KR
    Dominator Ram 8gigs
Mips Ram cooler (2 weeks till they have it in stock)
EVGA 260 with custom air/water cooler
    2x OCZ vertex 60GB SSD's

    2x Swiftech 355 pumps
Ek white toppers for the pumps
    EK-BAY SPIN Reservoir
    Black Ice GT Stealth 360
    Black Ice Pro Compact 120
    Enzotech compression fittings.

The mobo sitting in there. I already have most everything sleeved from my previous build

    The EK res

The pumps with the tops on.

My apogee GTZ ( I know it's dated now but still good enough for me ;) )

The Mobo has mounting holes for both 775 and 1156 coolers but the 775 holes leave the block askew not to mention the retention bracket will not work due to the back of the 1156 CPU bracket being bumped out a bit. I have the proper one on order from Crazy PC should be here in 2 days :)

In case there is anyone who hasn't seen it here is my custom GTX 260 hybrid cooler :)

As I mentioned before I don't know if it is better to do a dual loop  or a single loop with two pumps in it.

Thanks so much man. I did upload an image, but I guess I have to get this thing put together asap so I can run  3dmark on it. Currently this is the state of the Mod and I'm waiting for parts in the mail

Onward, I had about 2 hours to kill and I am just doing some figuring as to where I want my tubes to run. I am even thinking about throwing my EK multi option in there and use 2 reservoirs in one loop. Here are some more pics of some updated ideas I am working with.

I used a small 1/4" round aluminum "dowel" to brace the tubing out enough so I can hang it there to cut down on vibration.

Also i think I am going to throw the multi option up top there and see what I can come up with

I'm thinking it will line up pretty well

Got the Ek spin in as well. think looks good in this case

I imagine that initially they were supposed to help with hose kinks, but nowadays the new high quality tubing is pretty hard to kink unless you bend the hell out of it so for me it was looks only, in fact I'm going to remove them with the latest revision I'm working on now. I should have some pics in a few days, I'm still waiting for parts.

    As promised...

OK so here is where I'm at now.
I flipped the top360 rad and mounted the 120 to it.

I did use some black tubing to try and hide it in the shadows a bot

This is what I came up with for using both pumps in tandem

Here's a shot of my new Apogee GTZ 1156 mounting plate in white

    My OCZ SSD's :)

I still have to change the tubing on the Vid card and it is a HUGE PITA but it needs to be done.

    More to come soon.

I do have a small update:
I redid the tubes on the Gpu cooler and changed them to white and I think this will be the final tube routing.

All I nees now is my ram block and I'm set. CPU > Ram> 120 Rad. I may even throw in a temp block so I can get this **** up and running already.

The white tubing  is better for the black back ground, you need to use black plastic ties to neatly tie up all tubing.
