Bought a new Microsoft wireless keyboard/mouse combo.
Batteries are new. The range is said to be 15 feet. The reciever (very small, in USB port, back of computer) is 4 feet away from the keyboard/mouse. I'll keep this setup if I need to work on somebodys computer.

The mouse pointer "skips" across the screen at times. Some of the keys do not respond (some of the time) when you are typing.
This setup will suck while gaming so I need a good wireless (maybe a reciever that is on the desktop) or a wired keyboard/mouse combo.
Any suggestions? It doesn't have to be a gaming setup, the simpler the better. Hopefully a keyboard/mouse that match.

I went wireless because while gaming the mouse cable would "pull" the mouse forward making it uncomfortable. Maybe if I had some kind of cable support. I need to look into that.

Here is what I would get then.

    Daskeyboard (Wired)

    Razer Mamba (Wired/Wireless)
    http://www.newegg.com/Pro...x?Item=N82E16826153080

I used to have the Mamba but I was having issues with it and my Subwoofer which I have to have right behind me and when the bass is going the mouse pointer starts to jump around. VERY Sensitive mouse. Was on a hard mouse mat, not sure how it would work on a cloth. If you do not have a woofer next to you should be great. Battery life is good for gaming, I connected the cable for surfing the web and regular stuff.

Not much of a fan when it comes to Combo deals. Last Wireless combo deal I bought I had the SAME exact issues you describe. Since then, Wired all the way. Minus the Mamba, not quite the same thing.

If You do not want to try the Mamba, then I would get the Razer DeathAdder or Razer Imperator. I own and love both of them equally. They are both wired, but what I do is take a Velcro strap and Velcro the mouse cord to the power cord or HDMI cable that goes to the monitor. I make sure to give it a little extra, that way the excess cable that is hanging of the desk is not pulling the mouse back. If you want I can take pictures to show you what I am talking about.

Pictures aren't necessary. I like the keyboard but that mouse is a tad too much money. Looking for a plain 3-button mouse (scroll wheel doesn't move side to side).

I'll look into that deathadder. The buttons on the side make me think I'll be pressing them while gaming, that's why I tend to stay away from those types of mice.

I just pulled mine down real quick to check, there is a spot to place your thumb. The buttons are higher than they look in that picture. Plus I like to map stuff to those buttons. For instance in BF3 the Forward button is to resupply and my back button is for my C4. or whatever I have equipped and class I am playing. Quicker than reaching for the number buttons.

I bought a keyboard on newegg that I like (Logitech K100). I also bought a Microsoft basic mouse. Both are wired. I'll buy the death adder after the holidays.
