There are several problems with this report: 1st problem: Xbit Labs, VR-Zone and HardOCP have all been facilitating verbose claims of Fermi releasing in 2010 at the earliest as if it were some clearly distinct fact. However, they have all been citing a single source, none other than the infamous Charlie. See here: http://www.semiaccurate.com/2009/11/02/nvidia-finally-gets-fermi-a2-taped-out/ 2nd problem: There are still journalists on the playing field with equal if not superior internal access to NV corporate execs who have said otherwise. I remember specifically hearing Jen-Hsun, our beloved CEO, state that Fermi would be out before the end of 2009. Even if this means a 1 to 10 supply and demand ratio, I strongly believe that Fermi sales will begin sometime around the very end of the month to anticipate the holiday rush, if not early December at the latest. Many times has it been stated that the company has been taking preorders from AIB partners like no tomorrow, and this is not a statistic that Fudo has made up. I can confirm everything he has been told, as his contacts are my contacts. Hell, I work for the guy. http://www.fudzilla.com/content/view/16277/1/ http://www.fudzilla.com/content/view/16185/1/ EDIT> Copyrighted material removed by the moderator

I hope you guys are right because I'm getting desperate for a new video card and I don't see any 5870's or 5850's in stock. In fact they're pulling alot of them off newegg. I'll probably order whatever is in stock the soonest that is how desperate I am.

Simple concept: Whether we want the next gen or not, nVidia isn't going to hurry up just because, they will follow their schedules whether they tell us or not. So all this excitement is like we're betting the sun won't come up tomorrow. Just wait for it.

Trust me, there would be a lot more ticked off customers if Nvidia had scheduled all along to release the cards in Q1 2010... It would be better for them to just come out and tell us when for sure they are going to be released instead of what they are doing now. I hope this wasn't Nvidia's schedule and the circumstances are just out of their control. If otherwise, I'd be quite the upset customer. I can put a guarantee behind that

I don't think we have to make that truce. Most people will do that anyways and not keep waiting. Yes many on these forums will wait, but that's because we are Nvidia and EVGA fans. That doesn't count for most gamers out there wanting to play top end games with the top end cards. They will only wait so long.

Meh I'll wait a few months if need be. I'm not hurting for performance and neither are most of you guys here. So when it comes it comes. Btw image quality is better on the 5800 series than the 200 series? Huh? Que? Links please? I'm curious since it's the first I'm hearing of it.

It's really unfortunate that I sold my EVGA GTX 295 Plus Edition cards so early. They could've endured a 1-year lifespan (January 2009 - January 2010). I was too adamant on believing the late November / early December claim that Nvidia had originally proposed. However, I'm looking forward to the review units sometime next month.
