Got my new P67 board up and running last week and everything was running great so this weekend I decided it was time to OC a bit.  So I followed the guide and did the few changes in there as well as bumping my memory voltage up to 1.6 along with setting the memory at 2133.  Everything powered up fine and I ran prime95 for a couple hours with no issues with temps maxxing out around 58-60.

The one problem I am having is when starting from a cold boot it powers up then after around 5 seconds it shuts back down then powers up again and runs fine.  During this first breif powerup it does not even kick the monitor out of standby, but once it is going it works fine.

Any ideas?

    Yea its completly normal, happens to everyone when they overclock. Even happens on the z68 version. This is the #1 thread starting issue with the z68/p67 on this forum . The official answer that an evga guy said was that it is the clocks syncing.

    Have the same issue. They refferenced the PLL overide being the probable source. Maybe in a future bios update they said they would have it fixed. Till then im a 3 boots away before windows "sigh"

    If my computer goes into sleep all hell breaks lose and it gets stuck on a black screen with a little dash blinking on the top left corner. Takes me a good 10 mins of trying to restart it to get to the resuming windows screen. I learned my lesson and turned all the power saving features off - sorry mother nature.

    Yes its true they said it was normal when I had that issue. The truth is that it shouldnt be normal. I returned mine for refund as I have 2 other Asus P67 & Z68 and they dont do that. Hopefully a bios update comes out soon to correct this problem as it can be very annoying. Best of luck :)

    Well after updating the bios to 121 and doing somw final tweaking on my overclock I am not having this issue anymore.  I was also finally able to get my memory running at the coreect 2133 speeds.

    Not sure if it was the bios or the memory tweaks but it now boots up normally.

    @peeler05
    I learned this as well.
    Mine was going to sleep during a Prime test for whatever reason and causing issues. Then getting the machine started again was hell.

    Disabled Power manaegement and all is well now.
    Perhaps I missed something simple or user error on my part (which is quite possible) .. but it was odd.

    Not a huge deal for me, as I normally do this anyway. I just forgot this time after intalling Windows.
