Okay so I am at a bit of a conundrum currently. I am running a X3440 and a reference 1.5gb GTX 580. The X3440 is cooled with an H60 currently and the temps are okay but not great. The 580 is idling fairly high and loads close to 80c while running 850 core. I am looking to get some better cooling on both devices without breaking the bank. I am looking to stay close to $300 total for CPU and GPU. my Current plan is to get the RX240 Rasa and add a Heatkiller 580 block Which after shipping and some extra fittings comes out to a little over $300. One side note is that I already have 2x AP15s so fans are not needed.

I would like some suggestions on cooling if anyone has them. Whether there is better or cheaper parts out there to help me lose some heat.

And no I am not new to the watercooling scene.  I have built multiple loops and spent thousands on cooling like other people here.  Just trying to do it a bit more budget friendly this time.

Are you dead set on moving to water cooling?
How many fans do you currently have in your case?
    How is your wire maintenance?
Does your you 580 have a custom fan profile or are you using the stock one?

I only ask because if both the CPU and GPU temps are a bit higher than your liking, perhaps upping the air flow could help before spending any money.

Cable management is pretty good if I do say so myself :p

I have 3 intake fans, 1 exhaust and the 580 exhausting.  Watercooling cooling is something I wish to move towards for both cooling and noise.

In that case, I think you're plans for a RX kit will work as long as neither the CPU or GPU have a crazy overclock.

Does that the lower hard drive cage come out by chance? That way you could move your hard drive to the upper one and give some better flow. Even if it didn't come out be design, I would probably cut it out. Hell..if you only have the two SSD, take the both out and use double stick tape to put them on the back side of the case or the floor.

The upper cage does come out and I have removed it since that photo was taken.  The bottom cage is riveted and that is the only reason I never removed it.  I will now have to keep one though because I will eventually upgrade to a pair of 3.5" drives in raid 1 for storage and then have 2x 2.5" drives in an adapter caddy.

I read elsewhere that some people are claiming the included pump with the Rasa kits are weak and people have had them fail with over expansion (multiple blocks and rads added).  Does anyone have any experience with this?

A new problem has presented itself while I was researching what angle fittings I would need.  The RX radiator is thick enough that I believe it will block off access to the 5.25" bays.  This may put the RX Rasa kit out of contention as a solution.  The RS kit is not an option due to my desired components.  Anyone have some good pump/res combos that are low volume and will ideally fit in place of that top 3.5" HDD rack.
