Anyone else think this is a crappy way to judge your oc? I run an i72600k at 1.420 vcore @ 4.8 and get 60C hours upon hours in BF3. So i boot up my pc, idle around 46C, then run prime 95 and immidetly my temps go to 75+. If I am getting 57-60 all day long while running bf3 and 75+ in prime 95 for 10 secs - is my oc ok?

Its pushing at a 100% with a set of instructions that makes it work all that much harder.

Yea I get that I meen I have a acrtic 13 cooler (pretty much same look and build as hyper 212) and I dont wanna downclock my OC just cause my temps are too high in prime 95 and relativly low for my voltage in game.

If you are happy with your gaming temps, then dont worry about it. Prime 95 is much harder on your CPU than BF3 is.

If you want to see some high temps use LinX
    http://www.xtremesystems....mple-Linpack-interface

That pushes your CPU to the limit.

Stress testing programs like Prime 95 are ment to Max out your CPU, Higher load = higher temps. When your playing a game like BF3 your CPU is normaly used around 25 - 50%. You will never see your temps get as high as a stress test will get them unless you are Video encoding or Rendering with a true 3d program, and i am not taking about a 3d game. ''

I would not worry unless it gets around 85 - 90 C. TJ max is at 100C. and at that temp your CPU will auto down clock itself to protect itself.

Make sure your using the newest version of P95 and it needs to be 64 bit to get the real use. All other ones I've found not to burn as hard as P95.

    Setup:
    Corsair 250D
    Corsair H100i
    Intel Core i5 4670K @ 4.4 GHz
    Asus Z97I-PLUS
16GB Corsair Dominator Platinum 2400 MHz
    EVGA GTX 970 SC ACX 2.0 w/ NZXT Kraken G10 + Corsair H55
    Corsair HX850i
    Samsung 840 PRO 256GB

Don't forget to test for stability until the the next chipset is released. So you can make a new build and test that for stability until the next chipset is released. So you can make a new build and test that for stability til the next chipset is released. So you can make a new build and test.......... LOL

+1 for linx. (Intelburn test) Makes sure your computer is rock stable. Much better than prime 95.

Prime 95 is still the absolute best stability test for any PC especially the P67 Z68 and upcoming X79 platforms. Use max memory by setting it up manually, let run for a minimum of 10 hrs and there is no better stability test.

I use Intel Burn Test for a quick reference, if i pass 20-30 rounds of IBT i then run Prime95 for 12-24 hours. Pass both tests and your ready to go.

note: i have passed 30 rounds of IBT and still failed hours into a Prime95 test.
